1. Torbtown Take 31 http://torbtown.podomatic.com download (audio/mpeg, 4.34Mb) Description: So in 2000 I heard Todd Cooper play live at a dive in New York City and he really impressed me. Then, of course, life happened and the memory of the show faded... but not completely. I still had the memory of the memory... I'm not sure what triggered it, but the other day I remembered that I had a memory worth remembering. Armed with that little bit of knowledge, Nola and I went on a quest to see if we couldn't dig up what it was that I was trying to remember. Turns out what I was trying to remember was a song by Todd Cooper called "Shine Shine Shine". Gig is, I couldn't remember the name "Shine Shine Shine", but we did manage to find Todd Cooper. He has a myspace page, check it out: http://www.myspace.com/toddcoopersongs He has some good music there for you to listen to. However, "Shine Shine Shine" was not on his list of goodies, and, at that time, I still didn't know the title of the number... Nola and I were determined though, so we sent the guy a letter. I fully expected that to be the end of the matter. Nope, Todd wrote back. I explained that I was looking for something he did, but couldn't remember anything about it other than Nola and I really needed to hear it. So he sent us a number from the right era of his career. (how cool is that?) It was a nice number, a groovy number, but the wrong number *sighs*. Embarrassed for consuming so much of his time, Nola and I sent him another note thanking him for his efforts but, sad to say, that wasn't the one we were looking for. To wit Todd got back to us with Another song... and this time it was IT! I was floored. Nola, who had Never heard this song before in her entire life, starting singing the song right away, in that four year old, "I've never heard this before in my life but I like it so I'm going to sing at the top of my lungs to it anyway" kind of way. Then she slipped down off of my lap and started dancing around the room to it. That was that. I burst into tears. Everything about the moment, the exchange between Todd and I, the song itself and Nola's reaction to it just gave me Hope... Hope is a luxury I seldom grant myself: I have very little faith in the human animal *shrugs*. The next day Todd sent us another version of "Shine Shine Shine" and permission to "run with them". This is the second version he sent us. The first version can be found in the Torbtown Library, lazy feed 16 (hunt for it, I could use some page views *grins*) This is another standard Torbtown podcast, silly logo, a few Star Trek clips, and the ditty.
