"Sun Is Moving" is an offering by [a]pendics.shuffle, dealt and jumbled like a skat, a card trick w/ Big Bully's face on the entire deck. Next Altiply dispatches the signal of his sonic apparatus down chambers charged with the felicity of an electric dance party. Mikael Stavoestrand is also atttending the party and taking a small dose of disco bliss despite the fact that he wants to call it a "Bummer". Max Wendling aka Paradroid has further utilized his keyboard, beyond the expected knob tweaking fiasco and has composed a proper glitchnoisetechhouse gem on the jazz tip. Ken Gibson and Ian Read go out to lunch with a formidable gang of funky little demons in "Temporary Construct". Westend Ghetto is an extraordinary contemplative mood in "Cora Blum" which somehow transpires a disintegrating synth and festive congas to join in. An unusually cheeky Peter Spiess performs the freaky cabaret number "Wannabe" starring the voice of his better half. Adjunct's HQ subformation known as Whoa Buck delegates riddling maxims to their subordinate Shea Rutherford in "World Vulture". In conclusion Johan Fotmeijer brings out "Kobra", even though mildly venomous still a true diamond in the ruff. |

The split release delivers 7 tracks on Sushitech and 7 tracks on sublabel Sushitech Purple and is titled the "err9r" project. Sushitech and Sushitech Purple categorized without categorization and thus "err9r", Sushitech with it's deep and relaxing anthems to sooth you on your way and Sushitech Purple with it's house and groove driven sound. The tracks on this marvelous compilation should give a better understanding as for what the two sides of the label stand, as well as to showcase the musically drection and idea behind. It also exposes the hidden talents of the involved Sushitech artists with delivering playful yet sophisticated tracks far beyond of common boundaries and genre fixes. Young blood for 2006 and beyond! |

Milnor has a strong focus on a style called "minimal.deep.freakin´techno" - a surprisingly concise and appropriate description that applies well to the labels output. Also the tracks on this exquisite mini compilation are taking the listener on a truly intense and freaked out mission between subtle, yet funky grooves and more repetitive structures all covered by sophisticated arrangements and inventive sound designs. With crazed love for detail, this collection not only melts six unique, almost unusual approaches. It also delivers a couple of forceful musically statements, done by an eclectic global roster of artists from diverse musical backgrounds whose only commonality seems to be the passion for a pulsating and constantly redefining genre. |

The result is a compilation that offers a very diverse, and highly individual exploration of minimal electronic music - ranging from highly rhythmical, african influenced textures, to the more dubbier end of the spectrum, icy reduced yet quirky melodies and spacious cinematic meanderings. "Wormhole", by label head Alan Abrahams offers harmonious juxtapositions between state-of-the-art production methods, techno structures, world-music rhythms, and tribal chants / spoken words. Samples cut in and out at one instance and reappear in others, percussion is added at will, and textural elements are pasted into intricate collages to outstanding effects. Lump's highly infectious "Cake and Discipline" is a grooving mass of granulated noises crackling away over the 4/4 with a funked up sub bass adding the swing and minimally grooving underneath. The track is built and dissected with perfect precision, with subtle synths dotted around the 4/4, and clever vocal edits. "Yellow Leaf" by Milos enters reduced icy territories, with bassline depths to dubby floats and intricate textures forging a stripped, delicious line, in ascetic minimalism. The closing track " Halfway North" by AM/PM further demonstrates, his ability to combine contemporary electronic music, with beautiful conceptual composition. The skeletal percussion, sounding like a rattle snake, acts as a perfect catalyst and background for deeply melodic and strangely sparse sequences, chords and strings. |

Melting together three concise and unique musical statements, the various artist ep is reflecting the highly diverse output of microcosm - ranging from constantly evolving variations of minimal techno, to textural ambience, and electro-acoustic compositions. „Herky Jerky“ by label head Ezekiel Honig melts a strong straight-forward bassline with meticulously constructed percussive structures and dreamy piano drones - creating a romantic patchwork of dry bass drums, crisp sampling and reverberated instrumental textures full of melancholic deepness. Socks and Sandals’ edit of „Lover“ (Macrofun Vol.2) strips the original down to its bare bones before turning the straight microfunk-cut into an enraptured microcosm of granulated and delayed percussion effects. Closing track „Ditty Dumdum“ by Kate Iwanowicz, aka Miskate, enchants with a charming blend of funky grooves, melodic guitar samples and this unmistakeable way of sampling and arranging her own voice that comes to one’s mind when thinking of her last releases on foundsound and microcosm. |
