2. TAGP 76: Top 10 Ways To Overcome Sleep Anxiety
https://anxietyexit.com/overco... download (audio/mpeg, 22.14Mb)

Description:

"Sleep Is The Most Important Part Of Recovery."
Anxiety is a state of nervousness or agitation, especially prevalent when we are under extreme stress or are facing a difficult situation in our lives that must be resolved. The problem with sleep anxiety is that it can heighten the amygdala's (your fight or flight response) interest, and you may find yourself sensitive to everyday things.

In episode #76 of the anxiety guy podcast I want to make sure that each and every sleep anxiety sufferer out there begins getting relief. This relief may not come overnight, but with careful attention to the very things in your environment, and your thought patterns, sleep anxiety relief is within your grasp.

Sleep Is The Best Form Of Meditation...

Someone once told me. During my health anxiety and generalized anxiety struggles there were times where I was exhausted, and didn't know whether to to try and sleep or to meditate. If I slept I would miss an opportunity to focus on my breathing patterns and mindfulness. If I meditated I would be exhausted the next day. What's a sufferer to do? I thought to myself.
Sleep Anxiety Can Cause Nightmares, Sleep Disturbances, And Much More
If nightmares disturb your sleep, if you wake suddenly in the night, or if you tend to sleepwalk, these are important signs. Other symptoms can include restless legs, insomnia or sleep interference. Researchers have determined that people who experience an interruption in their sleep patterns are likely to see a dramatic increase in this disturbance later on. They also suggest that there is a high correlation between insomnia and anxiety.

Since anxiety can be directly attributed to the loss of sleep and interruptions during the night, remedying the anxiety will kill two birds with one stone. In episode #76 of the anxiety guy podcast we learn about:

What sleep debt feels like, and what to do about it
How REM sleep is the deepest type of sleep
The #1 thing you must do today to begin overcoming sleep anxiety

3. TAGP 75: Top 10 Words Of Wisdom You Need To Hear Today
https://anxietyexit.com/words-... download (audio/mpeg, 34.18Mb)

Description:

"In Life What You Really Want, Will Never Come Easily."
Inspiration is important, very important. These words of wisdom will begin to help create a vision for your life. Without a vision our minds don't know what direction to go, so we become stale. Brooding in our misery of how difficult everything is.

Inspiration often comes during the task you're involved in, and after the task is completed. Not before. This is especially the case if you happen to be feeling depressed, anxious, angry or ‘off’ in some other kind of way. As you NOW ACT and keep ACTING NOW, that is when the drive and belief begins to build within you.

As inspiration builds, more empowering thoughts and feelings tend to follow closely behind

Have you ever felt un-motivated to go to work, exercise, go out, but did it anyway? And, the more you did it, the more motivated you started to feel and by the end of it you were feeling really inspired and driven to do more?

Of course! That is because motivation is the reward, not the starting point. All acts require the most effort in the beginning. Starting is the hardest part. When you keep ACTING NOW, it becomes easier, more motivating and more satisfying.

It’s like pushing a boulder down a hill. The first big push is the hardest, but once you’re rolling it becomes easier and easier. Then when you feel the reward of getting to the bottom of the hill, that’s when you feel the most motivated - after it’s over.

These Words Of Wisdom Will Provide You With The Fuel To Begin, Or Stay On Track Towards A Definite Purpose

Think of it this way. It will not matter what you think, if you don’t act in the way you want to act. Without acting now, your beliefs will lead you nowhere. You will start to develop new disempowering beliefs because you can’t lie to yourself. This is why people who use affirmations without doing anything to act on them, become depressed.

In Episode #75 Of The Anxiety Guy Podcast We Dive Into:

The truth behind motivation
How words of wisdom such as these can be used properly
Why most people stay stuck in their lives

4. TAGP 74: Does Luck Play A Part In Health Anxiety Recovery?
https://anxietyexit.com/luck-h... download (audio/mpeg, 25.09Mb)

Description:

"Victims Believe In Luck, Warriors Believe In Cause And Effect."
The pain of going through health anxiety is very real. Many other challenges like GAD and Panic Disorder can also jump on the bandwagon and can overwhelm even the strongest willed people. At the point of severe health anxiety someone might even believe that the way back will be like climbing Mount Everest.

It's What I Believed For Years

Little did I realize at the time though that my mind was open to change. It was available to ride the wave of anxiety symptoms, it was available to change my past beliefs around health and the fear of death, and also it was open to ruminating over rational though patterns instead.

Years later today, long after my initial health anxiety recovery I am faced with the words "how did you get so lucky" on a daily basis. I quickly feel the pain of health anxiety suffering from these people, while at the same time feel the need to explain the truth.
"The truth doesn't come with a serving up motivational videos and inspirational quotes thoughts."
The truth doesn't come from saying things like 'man up' or 'learn to relax.' The truth is that understanding is power. The understanding of how the mind interprets threats, and how we must begin speaking the language of our Cortex (thinking brain) and our Amygdala (Emotional Brain) if we want to reach the point of natural health anxiety recovery.

Here Are The Main Topics We'll Be Discussing In The Anxiety Guy Podcast #74:

How changing mindsets from needing instant relief to long term progress is key
How hope and faith play no role in anyones true health anxiety recovery
How simple realizations after gaining proper knowledge can bring understanding and relief

5. TAGP 73: Channeling The Power Of Your Subconscious Mind
https://anxietyexit.com/power-... download (audio/mpeg, 24.08Mb)

Description:

"Whether You Think You Can Or Think You Cant, You're Right." Henry Ford

Your subconscious mind records your every emotional reaction to each experience you have, think about this for a second. Why do happy people stay happy no matter what crosses their paths, and negative people stay negative?
Simply Because Your Subconscious Can't Differentiate Between What's Good Or Bad, It's All Information To The Subconscious Mind.
Judging the quality of information received doesn't work well with the subconscious mind. But it will keep you focused on information that keeps you feeling the way you do, because it believe that's what's kept you alive all this time.

As long as someone sees themselves as anxious, the subconscious mind will continuously sort for information that keeps them anxious. That's why lucky people get luckier, and people that play the victim care everyday keep digging themselves in deeper and deeper holes in life.

Let's Remember That It Always Comes Down To The Amount Of Repetition That Takes Place Before The Subconscious Mind Stores It And Activates It In The Future.

This is why habits are so important, and self awareness is the key to changing habits. But in my 6 year struggle with health anxiety and GAD I didn't know how to think, only react! If an emotion popped up that I disliked, I reacted. If a thought was brought to my awareness, I reacted. I had no self control at all.

I then realized that when I started to act in awareness of my habits, my higher self acted as a guardian for my mind. This allowed me to step aside and see my thoughts and emotions from a new perspective. One that put the power right back into my hands, and soon your hands as well.

Episode #73 Of The Anxiety Guy Podcast Shares:

How your subconscious mind is contributing to your overall daily state
How patterns you've picked up through childhood still play out today
Why the subconscious mind doesn't accept new thoughts/beliefs so quickly

6. TAGP 72: My Health Anxiety Journey Through Medications, Support, And Setbacks
https://anxietyexit.com/health... download (audio/mpeg, 23.38Mb)

Description:

"Life Gave Me The Biggest Beating Imaginable, And It Wasn't Until I Learned The Lesson That I Succeeded."

Sometimes when you hear the health anxiety journey and recovery story first hand it adds much relief. Medications, anxiety support teams, and setbacks are something every health anxiety sufferer thinks of and experiences in their journey. Which is the inspiration behind this anxiety guy podcast episode.

The Definition Of Insanity Is Partaking In The Same Patterns And Habits And Expecting A Different Result

Which is what I did for many years. Then I realized that something had to give, so I took my doctors advice and started antidepressants and anti anxiety medications. Let's just say they both sucked royally for me. The other confusing arena is the anxiety support teams:

Who to turn to?
Who Will Listen?
And For goodness sake who has some half decent advice based around helping me to actually progress?

Of course we can't forget the inevitable, setbacks. Everyone has them during their health anxiety journey towards recovery. Why? Because your subconscious mind refuses to accept anything that doesn't fit your current beliefs and values. So as a whim, calmly, in the back of your mind it says to you:
"You're Expecting Me To Take This New Thought Or Skill Set You Just learned, And Run With It With No History Of Success Behind It?"
Welcome to the topsy turvy world of convincing your subconscious mind that you are a healthy, empowered, capable, loving, grateful, and fearless person. It takes time, it takes tears, and it takes some pain to re-condition your mind and to get it to be something you can rely on again, instead of your own worst enemy.

In Episode #72 Of The Anxiety Guy Podcast I Share:

How one anti anxiety medication almost led me to taking my own life
Why most health anxiety support people fail to actually help
How you can shift your mindset so that setbacks become a positive thing

7. TAGP 71: The #1 Factor In Health Anxiety Recovery
https://anxietyexit.com/health... download (audio/mpeg, 34.00Mb)

Description:

"Health Anxiety Isn't Your Fault, But It Is Your Responsibility To Overcome." Dennis Simsek

The overwhelming amount of information in today's world can drive a health anxiety sufferer mad. This piece of advice, his comment, that book, next thing you know the light at the end of the tunnel becomes smaller and smaller. This was my journey for over 6 years, until I began to work on this one incredibly important factor.
The #1 Factor In Health Anxiety Recovery Is No Untold Secret
Over the years we see athletes that had enormous abilities, but never make it to the highest levels. We've seen amazing business ideas that never truly manifest and become all they can be. And we see health anxiety sufferers live in a comfort zone they're far too comfortable in to try and let go of (unconsciously of course).

Welcome To The Bewildering Life Of A Health Anxiety Sufferer

There's something very common within the successes of people in different aspects of life, and it's the very thing we have the ability to alter. The immense power within us grants us the permission to consciously step in at any given moment to direct our minds in the direction we want to go, and for health anxiety sufferers that direction is freedom.

Freedom from the never-ending sensitivity to symptoms of anxiety, freedom from avoidance behaviours that keep them locked in a circle of so-so living conditions, and freedom from the grand-daddy of them all... The Fear Of Death.

In episode #71 of The Anxiety Guy Podcast I will reveal:

The biggest difference between health anxiety recovery and management
How we sabotage our chances for freedom unconsciously
What the biggest factor in health anxiety recovery is, and how it will set you on a path to freedom in all aspect of your life

8. TAGP 70: Anxiety Causing Depression? 3 Steps To Recovery
https://anxietyexit.com/anxiet... download (audio/mpeg, 25.01Mb)

Description:

"The Bravest Thing I Ever Did Was Continue To Live While Every Part Of Me Wanted To Die." - Dennis Simsek
Depression can be defined as ‘a mental disorder characterized by a pessimistic sense of inadequacy and a despondent lack of activity’. However, it is important to realize that while this definition is true in the most general sense, there are many different types of depression, and all of them differ in terms of specific symptoms and causes.
On a general level however, depression is a mental health challenge that can affect every aspect of your life. It can change the way you sleep, the way you deal with other people, and the way you view life in general. It is an all-pervasive condition that is very different from a passing mood - something that does not simply go away, nor is it a sign of personal weakness or lack of courage.

Depression can be a crippling condition, so let’s start by seeing if you may be depressed. Keep in mind that everyone has their “blue” days. The thing that separates clinical depression from simple melancholy is that the symptoms occur over a period of time. They don’t come and go, they stay around for a while and can affect your life adversely.

Can You Answer Yes To These 3 Questions? If So Depression Might Be Present:

Are you un-motivated to do simple things like shower, clean up the house, or make dinner?
Do people tell you you’re overly irritable?
Are you feeling isolated from family and friends even when they are around you?

Anxiety Causing Depression Is A Cry For Change, Now!
Suffering depression is your mind’s way of telling you that you need to institute changes through a proven CBT based system. and while a major change like moving to a different state or even a different country would be a huge step in the right direction, for many people this is simply not possible. That does not, however, mean that you cannot make changes to your environment which can help you to start getting over your depression problem.

In Episode #70 of The Anxiety Guy Podcast, We Dive Into:

The root cause of your depression
How the subconscious mind interprets your anxiety causing depression
How your life can change by implementing the 3 steps outlined in the podcast

9. TAGP 69: Is Anxiety Therapy For You?
https://anxietyexit.com/anxiet... download (audio/mpeg, 27.58Mb)

Description:

"My Dad Once Said Son, Never Change A Winning Game But Always Change A Losing Game."

A question I've been getting quite a bit lately is "can anxiety therapy help me in my current state?" A question that doesn't have a direct answer, and many factors need to be understood about the individual. But what I am going to do is take the opportunity to fill you with my personal opinions, give you the facts, and show you what works for me and my clients.

There is no one size fits all approach for anxiety sufferers. I've realized that everyone's challenge is quite unique from the thousands of people I've worked through my CBT based program dealing with health anxiety and GAD. This is where much of my frustration comes into play when we think anxiety therapy in today's world.
"I've been doing psychotherapy for 7 years Dennis," Laura said to me. I was floored, what a waste of money and time I thought to myself.
So this is my no holds barred version of exactly what you need to hear as far as what will work best for you. I will lay it all out for you, and tell you what I believe is the absolute best option for your specific case. Because I'll tell you one thing:

"What You Don't Want Is Your Therapist To Listen To Your Story, Grab A Text Book From The Shelf, Read You Some Breathing Techniques To Do, And Book Your Next Appointment."

Which was a familiar story during my 6 year anxiety struggle. "Was this therapy?" I thought to myself as I left each and every session more confused and anxious than when I went in. That's when I started to do my research to find out what worked for others.

I found myself a mentor who could relate to my story and held me accountable, I learned the methods behind CBT & NLP, and was relentless in my pursuit towards changing how I saw myself and the meanings behind my core beliefs, and the rest took care of itself in time.

In Episode #69 of The Anxiety Guy Podcast I'll be sharing:

A deeper understanding behind my anxiety recovery
Why Traditional anxiety therapy didn't work for me
How you can make the right choice that will actually spawn results quickly

Description:

"Is It Possible To Re-program Your Brain To Understand What's A Real Threat And What's Not? Sure, Why Not."

Remember that first full blown panic attack you had? What a bewildering experience. All your sensations heightened, your mind running wild like a wild goose chase, and minutes felt like hours.

Quickly you begin thinking this is the one, this is the one that will end your life. How could it not? It feels so real!

"With Every New Full Blown Panic Attack A Sufferer Believes It To Be A Heart Attack, And Responds Accordingly In That Moment."

Life after a full blown panic attack feels like a saber toothed tiger looking to pounce on you at any moment. The sensitivity to light, words, events, anything can be enough to lock ourselves in our comfort zones for days, weeks, months, years!

I know I did. 31 days to be exact in my home only stepping foot outside to take a breath of air once in a while. But all this fear stops today.

In this episode of the anxiety guy podcast I want to show you the truth behind this part of your brain called the amygdala that is running the panic show right now.

"By understanding panic we can train the amygdala to understand what is a real threat and what is a perceived threat."

So if you're currently going through a panicky chapter in your life, and fear the next big panic attack, this podcast episode is for you.

11. TAGP 67: My Anxiety Truth Unleashed (Powerful Interview)
https://anxietyexit.com/anxiet... download (audio/mpeg, 73.13Mb)

Description:

"What's Wrong Is Always Available, So Is What's Right."

Get ready for the truth. The truth about growing up in an environment that breeds anxiety, and how the cycle of GAD, health anxiety, and panic disorder manifested towards adulthood.

In this powerful interview with Judi Meredith I share the very things that kept my fears and worries alive, and how scary it was to alter my anxious state.

"I Remember Thinking Of How Foreign Recovery From Anxiety Was, And How I Sabotaged My Own Success Daily."

These are the types of interviews that I believe make the biggest difference in people suffering from anxiety. To show these warriors that anxiety recovery is not only possible, it's your right and it happens everyday.

The problem in today's world is we hear these labels like mental illness, chemical imbalance theories, and anxiety is in your genes so we believe the solution is beyond us.

"I Believes That's BS, And It's Time Positivity, Rational Thinking, And Success Stories Became Louder."

After the tough questions in this interview by Judi Meridith I find myself getting more and more caught up in today's mental health world, and more and more frustrated.

Remember, You Are More Than Anxiety!

Frustrated because the answer is always right underneath our noses. The knowledge, the mindset, the skill sets, and the power to apply what is learned with unwavering perseverance is what this powerful interview is about.

In The Anxiety Guy Podcast #67 We Go Deep Into:

How my subconscious mind accepted anxiety so early in my life
What kept my generalized anxiety and health anxiety alive
What I feared success over anxiety so much

12. TAGP 66: How Mentally Out Of Shape Are You?
https://anxietyexit.com/how-me... download (audio/mpeg, 28.42Mb)

Description:

"Our Mentality Becomes Our Reality." - Billy Cox

Have you ever looked at your mental health in this way? How in or out of shape you actually are? When we think about getting in shape we attribute that to consistency in some form of exercise to achieve a desired look or result.

So Why Does Physical Shape Always Come Before Mental Shape In Our Society?

If we look at our system from head to toe, internal to external, and what creates the quality of our lives, so much of it comes down to how we choose to interpret the information taken in from our 5 senses.

After suffering from health anxiety, debilitating panic disorder, and generalized anxiety I came to a very deep realization which was that:

"I Learned That A Thought I Had, Or An Emotion I Felt Was My Systems Way Of Asking My Conscious Mind What To Do With This Information!"

I didn't need to run with a thought for the entire day, and believe it. I didn't need to allow my emotions to overtake my reactions and rational thinking processes. But no one ever taught us how to deal with this stuff, until now, so we just keep avoiding or looking for that magic wand for relief.

Staying in great mental shape means working out your mind daily. It means that from the moment you wake up, to the moment you go to bed, you allow certain information to enter your inner world, and others not to.

"Our Lives Are The Direct Result Of How Mentally In Shape We Are."

In episode #66 of The Anxiety Guy Podcast let's look at:

What things you need to do to get in great mental shape
How a brand new perspective can change your world
How to step up no matter what situation life throws at you

13. TAGP 65: 5 Questions To Ask Yourself To Reach Self Mastery
https://anxietyexit.com/reach-... download (audio/mpeg, 20.47Mb)

Description:

"Self Mastery Is The Powerful Combination Of Control And Flexibility."

When we talk about self mastery we're talking about people that live mindfully. Mindful living means not falling for the traps of your default mode network (DMN), the part of your brain that thinks and behaves unconsciously.

Unconscious living means putting your life in the hands of others. A persons belief becomes your belief, the gloomy weather means an ugly day, and if something feels wrong than it must be wrong.

"Self Mastery Means Standing Guard At the Doorway Of Your Mind, And Allowing Only The Rational And Big Picture To Enter In."

The difference between average and successful people is their level of psychological development. Successful doesn't have to mean in any given aspect either. Some people can view success as simply living out their passion, or sitting on a bench, hearing the birds chirping, and simply being in that present moment.

As you probably already know and understand well, the mind doesn't naturally become broadened/flexible in it's thinking.

It Takes Commitment, Repetition, Emotion, And A Willingness To Change

But Dennis, why wouldn't someone want to change their lives for the better? Improving their physical, spiritual, emotional and mental health is a given isn't it? Well, not really.

If you're ever heard the saying "most people would rather die than to think," you know where i'm coming from. The very idea of change takes the conscious mind completely out of the game, and it checks out. It wants nothing to do with it since familiarity is what it loves.

In This Episode Of The Anxiety Guy Podcast We'll Be Discussing:

Reasons why some people will never change their realities
Where we go wrong along the journey

14. TAGP 64: Depersonalization And Anxiety – A Symptom Or Something Else?
https://anxietyexit.com/depers... download (audio/mpeg, 37.88Mb)

Description:

"Depersonalization; Quite Possibly The Most Bewildering And Terrifying Thing I've Ever Experienced." - Dennis Simsek

Depersonalization is something that's becoming more and more common in today's world of chronic anxiety, and yet no one can give us any firm answers on it yet. Certainly my own therapist had no idea what I was talking about, and my doctor just looked at me like I was from the planet Zoltron, so what was a sufferer to do?

The truth is depersonalization is most certainly one of those things that doesn't get much focus as far as treatment options. When all medical tests are done and physical ailments are ruled out, confusion can certainly set in, until today.

I believe the best solutions come from those people that have been through depersonalization and derealization, and have come out the other side. Even though all those inner voices tell you that you're doomed, there's a part of you that reminds you of how sensitized you truly are to everyday fears, and that the solution could simply be in taking care of those very things.
"When I Work With Someone Personally Through Depersonalization, It's Not Only Based Around CBT, But We Get The Meat-Suit Engaged (The Body), We Tackle The Emotional Fatigue, And Re-Wire The Subconscious."
So get ready to listen to this powerful episode of The Anxiety Guy Podcast a few times to really grasp where depersonalization comes from, what keeps it going, and what options you have to treat it naturally.

In this episode we look deep into:

The main triggers of depersonalization
Whether it's a symptom of anxiety or not

15. TAGP 63: Breaking Anxious Patterns: The Power Of An Elastic Band
https://anxietyexit.com/breaki... download (audio/mpeg, 37.67Mb)

Description:

"Break The Pattern To Create A New One."

95% of our actions are unconsciously determined. Think about that. These are habits, patterns, and most of them destructive. But we don't recognize these patterns because we were never taught to live conscously, but to accept our realities as they were.

"We Can't Blame Our Parents Though, I Mean They Can't Teach Us What They Don't Know."

Some of the statements my clients have grown up with are things like "you've got to roll with the punches" or "no pain no gain." No pain no gain? What the hell does that even mean? By running the same limiting patterns in our thoughts, words, and actions we create the vibration of living comfortably fearful, and my friends you're much better than living comfortably fearful.

An elastic band was my best friend during my recovery from anxiety, and it will be yours as well. An elastic band when used properly holds the power to not only break you of your anxious patterns, but to create mindfulness. A broader look into the world, seeing the big picture, and going external in our focus rather than internal.

To Break The Anxious Patterns Means To Catch Yourself When Your Crtical Voice Is Present

When the process of doubt begins, you're told you'll never amount to anything, or that anxety will just be a part of your life so you must learn to live with it... Forever. Every client I have goes through the elastic band process, and now my friends, so will you.

The 4 steps you will learn in this powerful epsode of The Anxiety Guy Podcast will transform your anxous patterns of thought, and change the way you see yourself.

In Episode #63 we'll be learning about:

What breaking a pattern truly means
How to fully accept and let the anxiety storm pass
Why the elastic band is an absolute must to wear for you

"The Light At The End Of The Tunnel Might Look Slim Right Now. But That Light Gets Bigger With Knowledge, Commitment, And Patience."

I get this question all the time: "Dennis, Have You Actually Overcome Chronic Anxiety?" When I get this question I almost always know it's coming from a place of disbelief from the sufferer. Recovery, a place so foreign to people with chronic anxiety.

A world that seems so far away for the moment, and I understand the pain fully.

In this episode of The Anxiety Guy podcast I go into great detail as far as how the past was for me living with debilitating health anxiety and GAD, my present life, and where my future lies. And as far as the newest Warriors listening to their first podcast episode, the message from this day forward is clear:
"Every Anxious Moment Is An Opportunity To Practice A New Approach."
Everything begins with mindset, the way we approach life, and the perceptions we have of ourselves. That is why when we start to see anxious moments as opportunities to use new CBT tools we've learned, we become less sensitized to thoughts and environments.

So get ready warriors to gain a deeper look into whether or not i'm done with anxiety, and let's answer this questions once and for all. Does 'Dennis still get those anxious feelings when thoughts arise', and when things don't go the way he wants, or have I been able to experience a sense of self mastery, and become bigger than my problems?

In Episode #62 Of The Anxiety Guy Podcast We Will Be Learning About:

The ways chronic anxiety manifests and how we sustain the feeling without knowing
How I approach daily life today
Where I get the fuel to constantly stand guard at the doorway of my mind

https://anxietyexit.com/simpli... download (audio/mpeg, 20.40Mb)

Description:

"Simplify Your Day, Do Less, And Pick Just One Thing To Focus On."

We can make anxiety recovery so very complicated, and that's where this episode comes in. This week on The Anxitey Guy podcast, we simplify our mindsets. We focus in on small changes, small daily wins, which will lead to big results.

It can be so easy to see yourself as weak, incapable, and powerless. The truth is you're none of those things, you are a warrior. Someone who is just as capable as any to bring themselves to a state of peace and balance. Self mastery is within your reach, but only if you simplify your journey through anxiety recovery.

"Life Is Really Simple, But We Insist On Making It So Very Complicated."

This episode is about your 'one thing.' Your one thing is one focus you hold onto for the day, that's it. "But Dennis how will I lessen my anxiety levels in ALL the different aspects of my life," I hear you saying. That is the very approach that is in fact keeping you from maintaining any progress in your anxiety recovery.

When you focus in on your one thing, your own mindset, your one new skill set, your one challenge for the day, you begin re-conditioning yourself. You begin to see that you can in fact be successfull in this journey. You can maintain progress, simply by maintaining one small focus per day.
"In anxiety recovery we can focus on breathing patterns, posture, journalling, thought patterns, new behavior? You choose your one thing."
In episode #61 on The Anxiety Guy Podcast, We're Diving Deep Into:

Why I believe in the 'one thing' approach so very much for anxiety recovery
How your one thing desensitizes a person from their fears
The moment when a sufferer begins to see themselves as a failure

https://anxietyexit.com/habits... download (audio/mpeg, 27.18Mb)

Description:

"Health Anxiety Is Kept Alive Due To The Fear Of Losing Control Of Our Minds, Bodies, Or Both."

Health anxiety sufferers consistently play out similar patterns in their day to day lives, with many of those people hoping for a different result. As painful as this challenge is we must get to the point of understanding that replacements of those patterns is crucial.

The Amygdala (the part of our brains responsible for the fear response) must be guided and trained. When the amygdala no longer believes that a perceived threat is in fact near, our symptoms of anxiety lessen and eventually don't appear at all.
"The key for health anxiety sufferers to re-train their amygdala's is by putting themselves in situations that they fear."
The top 5 habits that health anxiety sufferers go though on a daily basis can be replaced. As noted in previous anxiety guy podcasts; The fastest way to overcoming fear based thoughts and behaviors is by replacing them with new ones.

This is why this episode fills me with great joy. To once and for all help health anxiety sufferers replace the habits that keep their sensitivity to fear alive.

The top 5 habits in this podcast episode are the result of working with over 3000 people worldwide. Understanding their thought patterns, beliefs and actions on a daily basis. It was revealed to me that these were the most consistent habits. The replacements are some of the new rituals I use to help health anxiety sufferers in my personal 1 on 1 Skype sessions as well.

In episode #60 of The Anxiety Guy Podcast we'll get in depth answers into:

What causes health anxiety sufferers to choose these top 5 habits
How to easily replace them with habits that will break the anxiety patterns
The most common times of the day for these anxious habits

Description:

"We Are Not What Happened To Us, We Are What We Choose To Become."

This week on The Anxiety Guy podcast we dig deep on what our inner needs are. The psychological development levels outlined in this episode are the stages a person goes through in their minds as they age. Some 60 years olds stay stuck in level 2, which cries out for power and control over their lives. And some 25 year olds find themselves in level 5, a place of purpose.

Get Ready To Learn A Little More About Yourself This Week Warriors!

Having a deeper understanding of someone's developmental needs can help determine what goals, and learning outcomes they should set. As human beings we are unconscious creatures. We live our lives instinctively reacting to pain, fear, and joyful experiences as such. But at some point we must take note of what our true needs are and what direction our lives are headed.
"Take Control Of Your Mind, Take Control Of Your Life."
Many anxiety sufferers go through the anxiety chapter in their lives looking for the next great technique. Something unique, the holy grail that eludes them for so long. Well, there is none I can tell you that from experience and from having worked with over 1000 people worldwide.

This weeks podcast episode will help you see the big picture. The anchors that are holding you back, and where you've been spending most of your time in life. My recognizing these patterns you can begin shaping a true strategy around your needs, accomplish your goals, and move onto the next level of psychological development.

3 Things We Will Be Looking Into This Week On The Anxiety Guy Podcast Are:

The biggest reason why you're stuck in life and can't find your path

How you can begin shifting your perspectives in life starting today

https://anxietyexit.com/person... download (audio/mpeg, 35.23Mb)

Description:

"All Television Is Educational, The Question Is What Is It Teaching?"

During my 6 year struggle with debilitating generalized anxiety I ran into a quote that inspired me to see the world in a new light. Although long, I feel the need to share it with you and it goes like this:

"The world ain't all sunshine and rainbows, it's a very mean and nasty place and I don't care how tough you are, it will beat you to your knees and keep you there permanently... IF YOU LET IT."

I believe it was Sylvestor Stallone (comment below if I got it right), that said this. The part that stuck with me wasn't the part that the world being a nasty place etc (because I was living it daily at the time due to my health anxiety, panic attacks, you name it), it was the last 4 words:

"If You Let It"

I thought to myself, do you mean I have a choice in the matter? I didn't have to live in a world of reaction to every symptom of anxiety, every criticism my boss sent my way and every moment someone cut me off on the road? That last line gave me some space. Some space between my anxiety and who I was as a person.

I recognized that my internal chatter was enough to keep my mind occupied on how scary the world was. With every identity statement such as "I am anxiety," the fears grew stronger and the more it consumed me like a blanket wherever I went. I shared my struggles with everyone I met, not realizing one important thing along the journey which was that:
"No One Really Cared That I Had Anxiety!"
So I labelled those people too. "Good for nothing people who just care about themselves", and on the cycle went. Today's rant on the anxiety guy podcast comes from a place of love, even though it may not seem like that, so buckle your seatbelts and enjoy the ride.

The top 3 things we'll be diving into in this week's the anxiety guy podcast episode are:

The #1 reason for why negativity is so much stronger than positivity right now
How searching for the meaning of life everyday, just causes you more anxiety
Why we've become a society of zombies chasing the next temporary pleasure

23. TAGP 55: Overcoming Health Anxiety – Convincing Yourself You’re Healthy
https://anxietyexit.com/overco... download (audio/mpeg, 44.64Mb)

Description:

"Overcoming Health Anxiety Begins With Acceptance And Ends With Action."

Health anxiety is a condition that bewilders many people, including professionals. The idea that every symptom of anxiety can be a life or death event doesn't really cross the 'average' person's mind. But the biggest problem health anxiety sufferers face is convincing themselves that in fact their sensations are related to the emotional cycle of anxiety.

This hurdle is half the battle towards overcoming health anxiety. Many people find that the strategies they have within them can be put to use to lower their stress and anxiety levels once they are convinced.
"People Fall Victim To This Condition For Years. Overcoming Health Anxiety Involves Awareness, Acceptance, And A Commitment To Break The Anxious Patterns."
Overcoming health anxiety also means being able to prepare yourself for setbacks. Many people working on overcoming health anxiety fall victim to setbacks and bewilderment, and think they've made no progress at all. This is completely false, and deep down they know it.

What I've come to understand is that health anxiety sufferers who are looking for a CBT method to overcoming their condition, have lost rapport with their subconscious mind. This is where the main problem lies. In this powerful episode of The Anxiety Guy Podcast I'm going to equip you with what you need to begin overcoming health anxiety starting today.

In this episode we look into:

The #1 reason for why people fail in their journey towards overcoming health anxiety
What you need to do today to begin convincing your mind you're healthy
Why sensations of anxiety hold so much power over you

24. TAGP 54: How Long Will Your Anxiety Recovery Take?
https://anxietyexit.com/anxiet... download (audio/mpeg, 37.64Mb)

Description:

"Have Patience With All Things, But First Of All Yourself."

Many people who suffer from GAD and health anxiety wonder how long anxiety recovery will take. Important question that comes with a number of factors. Those factors will be explained in detail in episode #54 of the anxiety guy podcast.

Life with anxiety can cycle between having days of freedom from worry and fear, to extreme disaster lurking behind every corner.

Catastrophic thinking and fortune telling are common habits with anxiety sufferers, but it doesn't have to be. As a CBT Practitioner I like to take an action based approach to guiding people to change their thought patterns and eventually their belief systems all together.
Let's Understand Though That Anxiety Recovery Should Have A Mind, Body, Spirit Approach To It
In today's society we tend to see things in different groups. Meaning we target one aspect of anxiety recovery instead of seeing it as a package deal. Some important aspects are sleep patterns, diet, your relationships, routines that feed further anxiety and much more.

In this powerful episode I will give you the tools and main factors that will increase the chances of quick anxiety recovery. Take these tools and create a new you, a new identity of who you think you are as a human being. Because even though I don't know you, I know you're alive and that in itself is a miracle.

I also know you are a limitless being with incredible potential. You have the ability to turn your dreams into goals. So let's get to the 3 main aspects we'll be tackling in episode #54 of the anxiety guy podcast:

The #1 factor to consider for anxiety recovery
Whether how long you've been suffering matters with anxiety recovery
How identity plays a part in your journey past anxiety

25. TAGP 53: The 5 A’s To Health Anxiety Relief
https://anxietyexit.com/health... download (audio/mpeg, 31.58Mb)

Description:

"Worrying Is Like A Rocking Chair, It Gives You Something To Do But Gets You Nowhere."

"I need health anxiety relief!" This is how 100's of emails I open up daily start off. Thankfully for those anxiety warriors my passion through cognitive behavioral therapy is to focus in on this exact condition. It also becomes much easier for me because I can relate to their health anxiety journey, and that's half the battle right there.
"Is Health Anxiety Relief Even A Possibility Without Years Of Therapy And Medication?" Most Definitely Warriors.
It's difficult to see the light at the end of the tunnel when you wake up thinking you have a brain tumor everyday. Convincing the part of your mind that just won't let go of the possibility that you have a serious illness, isn't easy. Emotion and repetition sure can help to re-construct this new fearless you though.

I believe in these 5 A's so much, that I would bet a deep understanding and application of them alone can trigger health anxiety relief. Just as a painting with the color blue can trigger anxiety and panic attacks in a deeply sensitized person (due to past experiences), A reminder of these 5 A's can also trigger internal balance.

https://anxietyexit.com/greate... download (audio/mpeg, 37.81Mb)

Description:

"Life Is Really Simple, But We Insist On Making It Complicated."

If there were 10 rules I could give someone to become all they were meant to be in this life, it would be these ones. Life is simple, but we make it complicated. In NLP we label these 10 principles as presuppositions. Understand them and how they may be different than your own current perceptions. Recognize how these approaches could benefit you in your own life, and begin implementing them.
"Conformity Provides Great Limitations On People's Potentials"
To conform is to become someone else. To think the way they do, to act the way they do, and to run our lives the way they do. This is far too common in today's world. You're better than this, because you are here. You want different things in your life therefore you must do things differently.

The best thing I ever did in my life was to take a good conscious look around me, and my environment. Where was my time being spent? How was my time being spent, and with who. How were these things affecting my life positively or negatively? Most people don't stop to take a look, they're drenched in self misery and believe this is the best it'll ever be.

Don't Be Most People... Please

Most people run towards a strategy before fixing their mindset. Their approach to life. Their approach to themselves. That is why this podcast episode exists today, to show you a new way. A way that will empower you to not only serve yourself better, but to serve others as well. These top 10 roles to live by will get you to where you want to go.

27. TAGP 51: 5 Keys To Better Mental Health
https://anxietyexit.com/better... download (audio/mpeg, 27.65Mb)

Description:

"Never Let The Opinions Of Others Become The Measure Of Your Self Worth."

How many repetitions did you do for your mind today? Meaning, when you embark on a journey of change, your mind will resist the change greatly. This is simply because your subconscious mind has seen what is familiar for so long, and has no real success with this new approach you will take. But, the more repetitions you put in (execution of the new skill you have) the faster change will happen.
Let's Not Forget That Better Mental Health Means A Firm Commitment To Change
If someone wanted to lose weight, they couldn't do it in a day. If someone wanted to start a new career, that knowledge would take months or even years to master. If you want to have better mental health, you must understand that this is a long term process. I've seen rapid changes in people who first make that firm decision that their patterns of thought that lead to their beliefs MUST change.

Take Note Of That Word; MUST. Not Should, Not Might, But Must Change

As challenging as life might be for you right now you can move past this chapter in your life. You can because you have the resources within you to have better mental health. But ask yourself; Is your challenge related to a lack of skill sets? Or a lack of the proper mindset? In this episode you will become armed with both.

In Episode #51 Of The Anxiety Guy Podcast We Are Diving Deep Into:

Why so many people fail in their pursuit of better mental health
What the most powerful step is to begin the rapid change you desire
How the healing mechanism within you actually works

“Stop trying to be less of who you are. Let this time in your life cut you open and drain all of the things that are holding you back.” - Jennifer Elisabeth

A question that haunts so many people today who suffer with anxiety is; Is anxiety hereditary? If my father, mother, sister, brother has an anxiety disorder does that mean I must live with it forever as well? The power behind this idea can leave many people crippled thinking that coping with anxiety is the only way.
In this milestone episode titled: Is Anxiety Hereditary, I want to share my own opinions and research on this important topic
I lived 6 debilitating years with health anxiety and panic attacks. I grew up seeing my father overreact to the smallest daily challenges. I also saw my father become a physically and verbally abusive person to my mother and me. Lessons learned. I now know how not to be with my own son. But in my mid 20's I felt I was doomed as well.

Incredible how one limiting belief can keep someone in a state of fear and anxiousness forever sometimes

My father turned into a calm and loving person when I saw him last. I didn't even know who the person I was talking to was! I was in total shock. He had began to better understand his anxiety, he began to challenge and move with his anxiousness, and came through a better person. Is change possible for you? Yes. So let's get to this 50th episode of The Anxiety Guy podcast titled; Is Anxiety Hereditary...

"A clear conscience is the greatest piece of armor."

By arming yourself with awareness, you beat the system. A system that is designed to control your thoughts, beliefs and behaviors. I'm simply not OK with you acting outside your true identity. That is why The Anxiety Guy Podcast exists. This confusion leads us to believe what we think about, and do is important to us.

We must recognize the external factors that feed our high anxiety levels. These factors are not in our immediate awareness, but can be in time. Practicing mindfulness and recognizing what may be growing our anxiety levels is extremely important towards living a peaceful, productive life.
Most of what we do is unconscious which adds to our high anxiety levels. Marketers and advertisers know this, and use it to sell us stuff we don't really need.
We don't recognize the true power of the habits we do on a daily basis. A funny TV show that we love and enjoy can quickly turn our intentions against us. We than start to act in fear to the outside world, and have goals based around materialistic things. We then wonder what the meaning of life really is.

Life doesn't have to be a grueling fearful ride. Life should be an incredible adventure full of great memories. I know you deserve this, now it's time you found the truth through this powerful episode.

Description:

"You Are More Than Your Symptoms." Dr Denise Mcdermott

This week I had the pleasure of interviewing Dr Denise Mcdermott, and I loves every minute. Dr Denise tells it how she see it, and believes in mastery over your mind, body, and spirit for excellent mental health. Not the typical Doctor we all have come to know, we being the health anxiety sufferers of course.

"When Dr Denise Mcdermott Speaks, We Must Take In That Important Knowledge"

As many of you know, the Twitter world is jam packed with people trying to build their brands and businesses. It's really difficult to read people's true intentions from their Tweets and comments. What struck me about Dr Denise Mcdermott was this inner care that she had for anxiety sufferers. She just seems to be someone who 'gets it,' and I can only say to her clients this:

You Are Some Pretty Darn Lucky Folks To Have This Doctor By Your Side

A Doctor needs to be caring, and show you that you're not just a number, you're a human being. Therefore you should be treated not like the last patient that walked in, but someone who is in need of a state change. By applying a mind, body, spirit approach to healing anxiety we can bounce back in the quickest way, and allow ourselves to tap into the healing mechanisms we have within us.

In episode #48 of The Anxiety Guy Podcast we will be learning more about:

How most doctors view health anxiety patients
The best practices to heal generalized anxiety
Dennis's true experiences going from doctor to doctor during the peak of health anxiety

31. TAGP 47: Health Anxiety Help – Starving Your Fears To The Max
https://anxietyexit.com/health... download (audio/mpeg, 43.12Mb)

Description:

"Fear Of Death Is Worse Than Death Itself."

Get ready for the health anxiety help you truly need. Life wasn't meant to be lived in a constant state of fear at every corner. That is why in this weeks anxiety guy podcast episode we look into the idea of starving your fears.

Questioning your beliefs and your immediate world around you was a concept a good friend, and I needed to hear it. Many of the beliefs and values we hold onto for dear life tends to be the very things that hold us back, and add more fear to our states. I began to question my friends, where my time was being spent, what tv shows I was watching, the advice I was getting, everything.

This will be a powerful episode for the health anxiety help you need only if you are willing to learn, apply, and change

That willingness is where it all starts. I needed to understand that very simply until I improved my internal processes, nothing improved. It's these sayings, sometimes the most basic ones that we refuse to accept. We look for a big and hard solution that is always just outside our grasp instead of mastering the basic principles that will would become the exact health anxiety help we need.
"I can only wish I had someone tell me these things during the beginning of my journey, when I needed the health anxiety help"
Towards the end of my desensitization journey from my fears I began asking myself the same question over and over again; 'does this belief serve me?' If it didn't in that very moment, I caught it, recognized there was no evidence to support it, and replaced it with a new empowering belief.

In episode #47 of the anxiety guy podcast we're going to look at:

How to use your physiology properly towards the health anxiety help you need
How to question your deepest core beliefs consistently
Why your mind sees the negatives in an not the positives when events occur

Description:

FEAR - Forget Everything And Run or Face Everything And Rise

Morning anxiety was a debilitating cycle in my life, and for so many other anxiety sufferers worldwide. It was almost like when I started my day right, had a good deep sleep, and woke up with a decent mindset towards the day things were good. But when the day started off with fear (which was most of the time) it was tough to get inspired.

Until I Realized That Fear Was Just False Evidence Appearing Real In My Mind, I Was Just Masking My problems

Through the process of becoming a CBT and NLP practitioner I recognized some very powerful techniques. Techniques that worked for many people worldwide, and ones I never heard of before. The beauty of these 3 powerful techniques to eliminate your fears is that they speak directly to your unconscious mind. The part of you that is trying to do everything it can to keep you sheltered and safe.

We Need To Train That Part Of Us That Is Trying To Get Our Attention Through The Feelings We Feel Daily

I put these powerful techniques into action, and saw drastic changes. I began using them in my 1 on 1's with people suffering from health anxiety, and relief was right around the corner. Now I want to share them with the loyal listeners of the anxiety guy podcast, and get you to once again become fearless and in control of your mind and body.

In Episode #46 Of The Anxiety Guy Podcast We're Diving Deep Into:

How the two sides of your mind are in conflict, and what you must do to guide them
Why visualization could hold the key to eliminate your fears
How you can bring these powerful techniques with you no matter what situation causes fear and tension

Description:

You'll Never Find Peace Of Mind Until You Listen To Your Heart - George Michael

Have you ever stopped and thought to yourself if we were all just simply programmed for anxiety? We know that our internal processes kick starts the fight or flight response in moments of danger. We know how important this system was for our ancestors, but in today's world with the growing number of mental health challenges, do we really have any control whatsoever over our anxiety levels?

"I Spent 8 Months In Therapy Talking About My Anxiety. I Realized That The More I Talk About My Anxiety, The More It Stuck Around!"

In episode #45 of The Anxiety Guy Podcast i want to share some of the myths behind mental health. I also want to help anxiety sufferers out there today understand the degree to which you have control over your own mind and decisions you make.

Your core beliefs run the show in your reality

Basically the meat, the kingpin to your belief system lies in your subconscious mind. The greater the understanding is of how it works and why it works, the closer we get to desensitizing ourselves from our current fears. I also want to show you what has worked so well for my clients I work with 1 on 1 recently, and what hasn't worked for them in the past.

In This Episode Of The Anxiety Guy Podcast We Move Closer To Understanding:

Where your mind actually gets the thoughts it does
What you can do to lessen your worries around your symptoms of anxiety
What habits you're unconsciously taking part in that are keeping your programmed for anxiety

To show you some of the reasons for why so many people fail to overcome their mental health challenges. But I also want to show you how so many people succeed and create the change they want as well.

We Only Use 10% Of Our Minds

You've probaby heard this quote many times before. But have you ever wondered what it actually means? It means that most of the world, due to not being taught how to deal with their problems, try to overcome their issues with willpower. A recipe for failure. But don't worry, there's also the other 90% of your mind which is made up of your unconscious that will lead you to greatness.

The Key Is To Tap Into This Part Of Your Mind Consistently

Once you've tapped into your S.H.I.P (You'll learn about this in the episode) there will be no stopping you. You won't need daily motivation to get you through the day. You also won't need anyone else's support to pick you up when setback have occured. You'll be able to self-counsel yourself to deal with anything that comes between you and your goals for your life. So let's go!

In episode #44 of The Anxiety Guy Podcast we'll be learning about:

The real reasons to why most people only cope with their rising anxiety levels
Why we push our problems away rather than deal with them

Description:

"Successful People Are Simply Those With Successful Habits."

The world must not run you, you must run you. In episode #43 of The Anxiety Guy Podcast I want to share some of the life changing habits I picked up, and still do to this day. Deep down I never believed in this idea of motivation. I believe that when you implement certain habits and rituals into your life with the end goal in mind, drive shows up in your life.

When You Have A Deep Drive To Succeed, The World Is Yours

So I encourage you to listen to this podcast episode with an open mind. What you don't want to do, is listen to this episode and quickly move on to your next latte at Starbucks. Study the material, why? Because it worked for me, it's working for others I work with 1 on 1, and it will work for you.

The thing about these life changing habits is that it leads to self counselling

They help you identify a real vs imagined cause of anxiety. When feelings come up, we start to think catastrophically such as "i'm gonna die," or "i'm going to embarrass myself." The better you get at these new habits, the quicker you will identify those thought patterns that keep you in a cycle of panic and anxiety.

In this episode you will gain a deeper understanding on:

What separates people who cope with chronic anxiety from the people who move past it
How this 1 powerful life changing habit can change your life
The quickest way to stay driven towards one of your life goals

Ah yes it's that religious time of the year again where each of us must go our own ways, and pick the mall of our choice. Holiday stress is very real, and has the potential to be very dangerous at the same time.

37. TAGP 41: The Winning Mindset & Strategy Behind My Health Anxiety Recovery
https://anxietyexit.com/health... download (audio/mpeg, 29.49Mb)

Description:

"If we don't change, we don't grow. If we don't grow, we aren't really living."

80% of creating any change in your life is your mindset, 20% is the strategy you use. This is where many people suffering from health anxiety (hypochondria) go wrong. Looking for a winning strategy that has proven to work for others is good, but a winning mindset will keep you on track. Why?

Because Your Unconscious Mind Will Always Look To Default Back To What Was Familiar

Because of how our minds work, setback are inevitable, they should be expected. Even with health anxiety recovery. The other issue that people have with health anxiety recovery is they don't recognize that their unconscious minds hold the key to their core beliefs. When an event or situation occurs the unconscious mind is always the first to respond.
That's The Golden Nugget When It Comes To Health Anxiety Recovery, Right There
People today can't be blamed for their condition. I mean who ever taught you how to deal with this kind of stuff? Certainly not your parents or teachers. Most of us were taught to avoid pain, not solve it or move towards it. There lies the reason for the self fulfilling prophecies we create in our daily lives.

Here's What We Will Be Learning In Episode #41 Of The Anxiety Guy Podcast:

The Paw & Grow acronyms that will be your guide to health anxiety recovery
How a maintenance approach to your mental health is key
The moment I recognized I was lessening my anxiety levels

"I want to inspire people, I want someone to look at me and say because of you, I didn't give up!"

I'm really excited for this episode of the anxiety guy podcast. Mainly because what we think about we tend to believe, what we believe runs our emotions and actions in our lives. These 7 laws of the mind will not only give you a deeper understanding of why your life is the way it is, it will give you the green light...

The Green Light Towards Flexibility Of Thinking. A New Way Of Approaching The Things In Your Life That Is Fueling Further Anxiety

I tend to look at these 7 laws of the mind as manifestation tools for the unconscious mind. How we tweak and change our core beliefs. How we begin the process towards success in any aspect of our lives. This is the information, this is the guide that will take you from where you are, to where you want to be.

But You Must Study This Episode, And Understand How These Laws Of The Mind Relate To Your Own Life

The understanding that everything happens for a reason is powerful. Life doesn't happen to us, but the structure we create in our minds creates the results in our physical reality. I love this. It gives me control over my life rather than having life control me. So in this powerful episode of the anxiety guy podcast we'll be diving into:

The main reason why you haven't manifested that one thing you want to in your life
The one law that will bring your prayers and meditation sessions to life
How these laws are affecting your stress and anxiety levels today

"When I Am Silent, I Have Thunder Hidden Inside Me!"

Imagine if you knew exactly where your fears came from. Now Imagine that you had the tools to recognize when fear rises. Catching the patterns that leads to your panic attacks. That is exactly the direction we're headed in episode #39 of The Anxiety Guy Podcast.

So many of us try to change our environment, change our behaviors, or alter our skills and abilities in order to stop fear and panic attacks. But we don't recognize that:

Our Fearful Patterns That Create Panic Attacks Are Running At An Unconscious Level

There are many laws in our world that run our behaviors and create our physical reality (Next Weeks Episode Will Introduce Them All To You, So Subscribe For An Update!). But the one law I want you to understand very well, is the law of substitution. The law of substitution points out the idea that someone cannot just make themselves stop thinking of something in their lives. In order for us to reprogram our subconscious minds, we need to substitute a thought that we don't want, with one that we do want.

This Law Is Life Changing, And You Can Use It For Any Aspect Of Your Life

While your mind is now contemplating this idea, let's get into the 3 powerful ideas you will learn in this podcast episode:

What magical worry is, and how it creates your panic attacks
How to begin mirroring someone you look up to to begin changing how you feel now
The main reason you experience panic attacks that you are not aware of right now

https://anxietyexit.com/law-of... download (audio/mpeg, 27.66Mb)

Description:

"The True Law Of Attraction: You Get In Life What You Have The Courage To Ask For, And Act On."

In episode #38 of The Anxiety Guy Podcast we're looking at the law of attraction, and how to make it work for you starting today. The law of attraction is confusing to many. Also, many people including myself back in my debilitating days with health anxiety, believe that it works against us in so many ways. So what is it? How can we use this law to move our lives forward?

The law of attraction in the popular move The Secret stated that when we think, believe, and expect something to happen it will manifest. I fell in love with this idea during my days with health anxiety. But the law backfired. I found myself on the receiving end, and every time one of my core beliefs from my unconscious mind popped it's head up, I got scared.

I Did My Best To Try And Delete These Fearful And Negative Thoughts From My Life, With No Success.

With the 3 stages of the law of attraction fresh in my mind, I knew I was attracting bad feelings and experiencing into my life. I beat myself up for having these thoughts, and feeling this way. Soon I was more of a mess than before I learned about the law of attraction.

But I Will Show You How Not To Make The Same Mistakes I Did Through This Episode.

In episode #38 of The Anxiety Guy Podcast you'll be learning about:

How some people seem to always bring good experiences into their lives no matter what
Where to get started with the law of attraction
The ways you can use the law of attraction in all aspects of your life starting today

41. TAGP 37: Why Fear And Worry Continue To Control You Daily
https://anxietyexit.com/fear-a... download (audio/mpeg, 37.75Mb)

Description:

Our subconscious mind has two main duties:

To keep us happy, or to keep us safe. When it has to pick from keeping us happy or safe, it always will pick keeping us safe and out of danger. Many times though for people with chronic fear and worry that turns into full blown health anxiety, and our warning bells of imminent danger go off for no reason at all.

I don't know about you, but I hate when people us the term 'mental illness.' The idea that this fear response has been practiced so many times in situations that don't justify it going off, and thinking our feelings are actually real facts, doesn't mean we have an illness.

I Like To Call It A Temporary State Of Wrongful Programming :)

As a CBT Practitioner who's passionate about helping people understand where their fear and worry comes from, many get stuck in a negative pattern. Stuck and thinking that this is all there is. Life is just a permanent state of one cautious situation after another.

If only people with chronic fear and worry understood what there Negative Automatic Thoughts (NATS) we're, and where the came from, they would be able to catch them. After catching them they could investigate the evidence that supports the belief, and finally they could replace it with a new empowering evidence based belief.

In episode #37 of The Anxiety Guy Podcast let's dive deep into:

How chronic fear and worry manifested into your life
why you can't get UN-stuck from your condition
Why others look so calm, and accepting when difficult situations present themselves, and how you can do the same

https://anxietyexit.com/positi... download (audio/mpeg, 31.26Mb)

Description:

"Confidence and courage come through preparation and practice."

Episode #36 of The Anxiety Guy podcast looks at the very important, and often un-noticed positive sides of anxiety. You may be thinking how the heck can there be a positive side to this feeling. The truth is anxiety is a very normal, and common response in today's day and age.

Our ancestors needed to be on high alert all the time due to the constant dangers of their outside world. A saber-toothed tiger creeping around the corner for example. But in today's world it's much more uncommon to come in contact with life threatening dangers in our daily life.

The Problem Is That We Don't Realize That Our Feelings, Many Times, Get Interpreted As Real Facts! So We Respect Them, And Act On Them.

The nice thing about anxiety, is we can use it. We can use it for fuel and motivation during a speech we have to give, and we can see the good it can bring into our lives. We can notice and give thanks to anxiety for saving us from life threatening situations.

The only thing we need to do is recognize where that tipping point is. If we feel anxiety becoming chronic, it's time to change the patterns that cause the behaviors we experience through a CBT method.

In This Episode Of The Anxiety Guy Podcast We'll Dive Deep Into:

A new perspective on our anxiety
The positives we can notice to take off some of the pressure NOT to experience anxiety
The one most important tool anxiety gives us daily

Health anxiety/hypochondria and the fear of death go hand in hand. It's like a joint relationship and one can't live without the other, but thankfully there are ways out of this torture.

You see, the fear of death takes a person completely out of the present moment. Life turns into an all out battle against time, and in the end, we all lose anyway.

As a tennis professional in my early 20's I was a free man. A man who was self disciplined, a man who followed his purpose in life, and someone who enjoyed every minute of his existence. Then almost out the blue health anxiety struck, and it struck hard. Years went by without any progress, and I sat in a car one day wondering, why go on.

Thankfully I Did Go On And Fully Recovered From Health Anxiety,  And Now Have The Opportunity To Help You

The fear of death kept my anxious thought patterns alive. I blamed the world for my past horrible existence, I was the victim, and everyone else was the 'bad guys.' In this latest, most powerful podcast episode yet I want to share some very important thoughts on the fear of death. I also want to give you the 5 best ways to begin overcoming the fear of death. 47. TAGP 31: The 2 Human Needs That Fuel Your Health Anxiety
https://anxietyexit.com/human-... download (audio/mpeg, 35.75Mb)

Description:

"Every day brings a choice: to practice stress or to practice peace."

The 6 human needs that Tony Robbins talks about is an eye opener. It truly depicts the reasons for why we do what we do in our lives. But how do some of these human needs play a part in the life of a health anxiety sufferer? That's the question, and if we look deep enough within, we just may find a few interesting connections.
What Is Health Anxiety?
Health anxiety is basically a pre-occupation with having or developing a serious disease or illness. We're told that only a 'professional' can diagnose you as having health anxiety, but I like to think sufferers have a pretty good idea of when they have health anxiety/hypochondria.

Life for a hypochondriac is busy. Not good busy, but more over-worried busy. Hypochondriacs are accustomed to:

Visiting numerous doctors for constant negative diagnosis's for serious diseases
Trying, but never fully committing to different supplements, anxiety programs such as CBT, and different suggestions

https://anxietyexit.com/greate... download (audio/mpeg, 31.32Mb)

Description:

As I walked up to interview the first of five 90 year old seniors at their senior home, the first thing one of them said to me was:

"I Wish Life Has A Rewind Button."

It was amazing how badly these 90 year old seniors wanted to talk about heir greatest regrets. The things they wish they could change, but can't anymore. The amazing thing I learned, and will share in more depth in this episode, is that none of us should settle for a stale life and have regrets at a later age.

A Comfortably Happy Life Shouldn't Be Good Enough

As most of you know through my powerful health anxiety story, I lived as a victim for many years. A victim that thought health anxiety would be my reality for the rest of my life. The seniors I had talked to, and share with you in this episode have also had more than their share of mental health surprises.

The worst part is that they let their struggles interfere with the person they always wanted to be. They weren't able to help others the way they wanted to. They weren't able to have the life experiences they wished they could, and now time is running out for them. But you can begin using their regrets, to fuel your recovery from anxiety starting today.

In this episode of The Anxiety Guy Podcast we'll learn about:

The real reasons for why these seniors couldn't overcome their life obstacles
The one greatest piece of advice for people in their 30's and 40's
How pleasing people shouldn't be on the list of priorities in your life

50. TAGP 28: Personal Review On The Best Anxiety Book On The Planet
https://anxietyexit.com/best-a... download (audio/mpeg, 32.48Mb)

Description:

Here's my personal review on Hope And Help For Your Nerves by Dr Claire Weekes. A book that has helped many worldwide along with myself. A book that is very easy to understand, and apply into your life. This is the best anxiety book out there simply due to the relatability it has with its readers.

Many times when suffering with health anxiety people get confused. Is this symptom of anxiety due to my nerves? Is tension causing this feeling in my throat? These questions as well as many more are answered in this anxiety book.

The one thing I must warn you about this book though, is that it comes with some questionable material. I'm a firm believer in the idea of going natural when you start your recovery from health anxiety. Some parts in the book speak quite highly about antidepressants and anti anxiety medication, which in my opinion are great at a chronic level. But even then...

I've Seen Natural Health Anxiety Transformations On A Daily Basis

This means that it is possible, but takes certain characteristics. One is that you must have patience. CBT has been proven over and over to help health anxiety sufferers naturally overcome their challenges. Also certain herbs and supplements can act just as good, and without the side effects of many medications out there.

But in the end the choice is always yours, the valued listener of The Anxiety Guy Podcast. In the best anxiety book episode review you'll also be earning about:

Why you feel the certain symptoms of anxiety you do randomly
Why panic attacks happen to you out of the blue
How to eliminate the tension you're currently feeling throughout your body
