In this episode, we talk about money mindset and the many roadblocks we are faced with when it comes to financial confidence, Polly believes that money is the gateway to personal and spiritual growth, and without understanding underlying fears it can be hard to see what’s standing in the way of our success. We talked in-depth about the coexistence of spirituality and money, one really does serve the other. Polly shares that many, if not all money roadblocks, start with personal experiences, fears, beliefs, self-worth, and what society has led us to think. We dig into the idea of self-sabotage, Polly says procrastination or feeling resistance is often caused by internal fears manifesting, and she suggests writing down the fear you’re experiencing and ask yourself why you feel this way to get the root cause of this belief. Polly and I are so aligned on money beliefs and overcoming fear surrounding finances, do you struggle with financial fear or self-worth? You’ll definitely want to listen to this episode.

5 Common Fears and Beliefs

Self-worth: How we value ourselves, feeling not good enough. Visibility: How we wish to be seen by others. External Validation: What do people think of us. Judgment: Fear of not having enough or too much. Avoidance: Avoiding what we don’t understand or fear.

2. 155 - Attracting The One With Bernardo Mendez
http://wealthywellthy.life/155... download (audio/mpeg, 51.88Mb)

Description:

On this episode of the Wealthy Wellthy podcast, we talk relationships with Bernardo (Bern) Mendez. From age 17 until Bern was about 23, he participated as a volunteer staff member in many self-help seminars around the world, which gave him an invaluable insight into how he could help others create meaningful and lasting changes in their lives. Bern has a serious passion to help others learn and live by the rules of relationships. He started posting videos to his YouTube channel, Yourgreatlifetv, after being inspired to share his message on relationships. Fast forward 9 years, he now reaches nearly eighty thousand men and women every month on his channel.

Bern talks about the importance of clear and direct communication when pursuing and sustaining a relationship. So much heartache and frustration can be eliminated if both people are clear about what they are looking for in a partner, what they anticipate the relationship to look like, and their future intentions. I get a little vulnerable and share some of my personal experiences with relationships. Bern gives me valuable insight that it doesn’t have to be an “either/or”, but it can be a “both/and” if you know what you’re looking for in a romantic relationship.

A big part of the law of attraction is what Bern calls “radiance.” He defines radiance as the magnetism that results from self-confidence, self-awareness, and self-discovery paired with the openness to be pursued and approached. Bern teaches that while it might not seem like it based on your previous relationship experiences, you are worth the effort and there are people out there who are on the same page as you when it comes to your wants, needs, and expectations. It might take longer to get down to the root of the other person’s character and inner longings, but finding the right person is worth the time investment, and if they are the “forever” person, you are not losing any time by talking with them extensively to make sure you are on the same page. If you’re searching for the one, you’ll definitely want to listen in on this episode.

3. 154 - How To Be An Effective Lifelong Learner With Jonathan Levi
http://wealthywellthy.life/154... download (audio/mpeg, 37.79Mb)

Description:

On this episode of the Wealthy Wellthy podcast, I spoke with Jonathan Levi, a lifelong entrepreneur and innovator who is committed to helping people all over the world understand and live what it truly means to be a learner. Jonathan and I became fast friends during this interview, we are on the same wavelength throughout the conversation.

Jonathan grew up in Silicon Valley but realized as an adolescent and young adult that he did not like the person he had to be to succeed there. During and after college, he tried to expose himself to other cultures and traditions until he fell in love with Tel Aviv and decided to move there, stepping out on faith with no solid plan for his future. He began working on creating online courses as a side hustle and over the past few years, this has grown to be his full-time job and more. The Superhuman Academy has taught 250,000 students worldwide and has accrued 3.5 million podcast downloads.

Since he began college, Jonathan has invested in real estate for passive income and he is in the process of entering the commercial real estate realm as well. This type of investing experience emphasizes the differences between income and wealth and the importance of diversifying your income streams enough to be able to build both simultaneously. Jonathan is committed to helping people understand what it truly means to learn, to make them excited to learn, and to introduce the importance of memory in the process of learning. Many people have self-limiting beliefs that they “have a lousy memory” or “can’t remember names”, but the truth is that everyone has the ability to remember much more than they think they can. One way that Jonathan encourages this learning is by relying on the power of social capital and accountability in the learning process. His latest book, “The Only Skill That Matters” covers these topics in much more detail in an engaging way, and I encourage everyone to consider reading it.

4. 153 - How Micronutrients Can Change Your Life With Mira and Jayson Calton
http://wealthywellthy.life/153... download (audio/mpeg, 46.80Mb)

Description:

On this episode of the Wealthy Wellthy podcast, I interview my good friends Mira and Jayson Calton, a couple whose work in the field of nutrition inspires me. When Mira was 30 years old, her body started shutting down. After a few tests, she found out that she had advanced osteoporosis, which was shocking considering her age and her relatively healthy lifestyle. In her search for answers and for alternative treatments to the extreme medications prescribed to her, she met Dr. Jayson Calton. Jayson was interested in Mira’s case and the two began to take a deeper look at nutrition, specifically macronutrients and micronutrients.

They realized that Mira’s body simply was not absorbing the micronutrients that were so essential to healthy bones, but they weren’t sure why. Before long, they got married and began to travel around the world to determine how people living in rural or primitive settings don’t seem to struggle with issues like osteoporosis and diabetes. This research has taken them to 145 countries and all 7 continents and has left them with some key insights.

Many people believe that whatever diet they are following contains everything they need for a healthy life, but in their very nature, diets are restrictive. By removing anything from your diet, you are also removing the macronutrients and micronutrients contained in those foods, and you must be intentional about adding them back in somehow. Mira and Jayson now understand that no diet is perfect and they have created the term “nutrivore” to inform people that they should primarily aim to eat macronutrients and micronutrients rather than sticking to a specific diet.

In addition to nutritious eating, a healthy lifestyle and supplements that follow the ABCS (Absorption, Beneficial quantity and forms, Competition, and Synergies) are the crucial elements of the journey towards health. A great place to start is by getting a spectra cell test, an omega check, and a hormone check to get a baseline for where you are now, and the results will help guide you to the specific metrics you need to focus on daily. Over the years, Jayson and Mira have tested dozens of supplements based on their ABCS only to find that most on the market do not meet the basic qualifications for sufficiency. As a result, they have created their own line of supplements that are easily absorbable and very effective.  Talking to Mira and Jayson was so enlightening to me and my own health journey and I hope it will be for you as well.

5. 152 - Building Wealth Through Real Estate Investing With Nichole Stohler
http://wealthywellthy.life/152... download (audio/mpeg, 28.95Mb)

Description:

On this episode of the Wealthy Wellthy podcast, Nichole Stohler, “The Richer Geek”. Nichole became interested in real estate and real estate investing after reading Robert Kiyosaki’s book entitled “Rich Dad, Poor Dad”, and she and her husband started their journey in the industry in 1999. Their first attempt failed, but through that experience and over the next several years, they learned a lot from their mistakes to prepare them for future endeavors.

In 2011, they really began their concentrated effort on real estate investing, and the rest – as they say – is history. In her W2 job in the tech industry, Nichole notices a lot of people relying on their 401(k) plans as their main or sole source of “retirement” savings, but most people don’t realize that real estate investments have a much higher rate of return and provide much more flexibility and personal choice along the way. By simply matching your company’s 401(k) amount and putting the rest of what you would have contributed to “max out” that retirement account each year into real estate investments, you are diversifying your portfolio for the future.

Additionally, real estate allows you to generate multiple income streams and reap the tax benefits that come along with owning multiple properties. Nichole recommends that people really evaluate their goals and capacity before jumping into a real estate investment. Crucial considerations are location, how much capital you have to work with, how much time you are able to commit to real estate, and whether you are planning to use a property manager or manage the property yourself. Create a worst-case scenario set of your numbers to determine if you could still make money in the worst of times and reach out to your network or real estate investors in your area for their insights into the market.

Nichole is involved with a group in the Scottsdale area that is focused on women who want to get into real estate investing, some of which want to be a part of the beautification process involved in flipping a house and some of which have decided to stay at home with their children and they want to have a project on the side. She and I agree that this mindset of building both income and wealth is a great one to have and we applaud women and men alike who are choosing to take control of their finances and become more well-rounded.

6. 151 - Healing When It Seems Impossible with Dr. Shiroko Sokitch, MD
http://wealthywellthy.life/151... download (audio/mpeg, 41.74Mb)

Description:

My guest on this episode of the Wealthy Wellthy podcast is Dr. Shiroko Sokitch, founder of Heart to Heart Medical Center in Santa Rosa, California. Dr. Sokitch’s story is very unique in that a traumatic experience at a young age instantly convinced her that she wanted to be a doctor in order to help and heal people. She went the traditional medical route, even saving a patient’s life during ER surgical residency, and at age 27 she had an epiphany about the difference between saving a life and living a life.

A friend of hers gave her the book “The Web That Has No Weaver”, which opened her eyes to the potential of Chinese medicine in making sense of strange things. She went to acupuncture school while working in the ER and dreamed of one day opening a medical center in California that would blend these two worlds. Dr. Sokitch came to realize that Western medicine focuses on fixing the issues and symptoms that people have while Eastern medicine relies more heavily on healing the root causes of those issues and perhaps other issues that have never been known. The practices of Eastern medicine transcend that which can be experienced through the five senses to understand the beliefs, energy, and emotions under the surface.

I felt that she was speaking directly to me and my healing journey and appreciated her educated insights into the dynamics at play in the physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual realms. I resonated so strongly with her during our discussion and have seen first-hand the impacts that love, connectivity, and positive emotions can have on healing and wellness. Dr. Sokitch is committed to being well-informed about the external stimuli that could be impacting her patients’ health as well as encouraging her patients to listen to their bodies. She believes that no situation is beyond hope as long as you believe that healing is possible.

7. 150 - Pursuing Conscious Growth With Josh Whiton
http://wealthywellthy.life/150... download (audio/mpeg, 54.75Mb)

Description:

I was introduced to Josh Whiton by a mutual friend not to long ago and my view of the world has been expanded ever since that day. Josh has a way of actualizing his lofty goals of elevating the world by integrating his passions in the areas of business, technology, social justice, and environmentalism.

On this episode of the Wealthy Wellthy podcast, Josh and I discuss his deep-seated desires for autonomy and freedom paired with his proclivity towards wanting the make the world a better place by following his curiosity and serving his higher purpose. Josh started his entrepreneurial journey shortly after graduating from college, and for the past decade, he has found strategic ways to solve problems and serve his community. He has always been an independent thinker, elevated to a higher place of existence and understanding by spiritual experiences that enhance his perspective of the world at large. He believes that the future of humanity exists at the intersection of business, technology, social justice, and environmentalism and that when approached the right way, this intersection accomplishes altruism and hedonism simultaneously.

Josh’s personal and professional journeys have been intertwined since his childhood when he began the practice of journaling. His philosophical leanings allow him to recognize the feedback loops that have remained unclosed for many people since their childhood, leaving a lot of lingering unmet needs for which they are seeking healing through coping mechanisms. When this healing occurs the natural way, it leads to self-acceptance, growth, and unconditional love for self and the world. One of the overflows of Josh’s own journey to unconditional love and growth is Make Soil, whose mission is to orchestrate makers and contributors across the U.S. to convert compost into living soil.

8. 149 - The Power Of Healthy Conflict With CrisMarie Campbell and Susan Clark
http://wealthywellthy.life/149... download (audio/mpeg, 48.24Mb)

Description:

My guests on this episode of the Wealthy Wellthy podcast, CrisMarie Campbell and Susan Clark, are experts on conflict and communication in relationships. The pair met more than 20 years ago and they quickly hit it off, first as business associates working in the corporate world, helping companies enhance teamwork by understanding conflict in that setting. As they became a couple, they found that they were better able to understand and communicate with their clients about the conflict in couple’s relationships as well.

CrisMarie and Susan share the different dynamics that are involved and the far-reaching impacts of embracing conflict in relationships. From the perspective of increased intimacy and fulfillment, their discussion was eye-opening when it comes to trusting the other person enough to be open and vulnerable with them and trust that they will reciprocate. They talked about healthy and unhealthy conflict and how it is important to define the lines that should not be crossed based on each person’s preferences and past experiences. We discuss the benefit of talking about these boundaries early in a relationship, and how having these tough conversations sooner, relationships are more primed to thrive through conflict.

One of the most interesting concepts that CrisMarie and Susan talked about, is focusing on yourself and your needs before trying to contribute to the relationship. They share that your relationship will be stronger when you are stronger individually first and willing to talk about your needs and desires with each other in an effort to make yourselves a stronger unit.

9. 148 - Understanding Gender Dynamics with Robert Kandell
http://wealthywellthy.life/148... download (audio/mpeg, 31.43Mb)

Description:

On this episode of the Wealthy Wellthy podcast, I talked with Robert Kandell, host of the “Tuff Love podcast” and author of “unHIDDEN: A Book For Men and Those Confused By Them”. In the late 1990s, Robert went through a series of personal transformations that led him to make some significant changes in his life. He started a new company in 2005, but after about 9 years he realized that he was not in alignment with the direction of the organization, so he started his consulting business in 2014. Since then, he has been helping men and women alike understand the dynamics between them and the ways in which the mindsets ingrained in them since birth are no longer sufficient or productive.

His book is intended to serve as a translational guide between the genders, ultimately helping men and women understand each other, their needs, their goals, and their communication styles, especially in the new social landscape that has emerged since the “Me Too” movement of 2017. Robert believes that women are more empowered than ever before to be ambitious and aspirational, from school age all the way into career advancement, and men are struggling to engage with women in this shifted dynamic. Robert speaks to the ways that female empowerment and the integration of technology into the dating world affect relationships in general and outlines specific things to be aware of in maintaining a healthy relationship with your partner, filled with truth, transparency, and trust.

10. 147 - How Behavioral Awareness Affects Investing With David Keller
http://wealthywellthy.life/147... download (audio/mpeg, 36.61Mb)

Description:

On this episode of the Wealthy Wellthy podcast, I talked with David Keller of Sierra Alpha Research, a firm specializing in behavioral finance. David comes from a finance background where he studied the statistics behind people’s purchasing and money decisions, and he has found that his sweet spot is helping his clients unpack their behavioral baggage to see how psychology affects their behaviors.

One of his main pieces of advice is to write down your investment plan and determine the rules that will govern your investment decisions. By sticking to the specific benchmarks and timeframes you have set out for yourself, you remove any element of endowment, confirmation, or narrative biases from your process, making your investment decisions more level-headed and less impulsive. David advises new investors to evaluate how much time they have to commit to working on their investments and not put expectations on themselves that are more than they are capable of. A good rule of thumb is to buy good companies at a good time, and you can find out about these opportunities by being informed about the market and self-aware.

As a pilot in training, David has found a lot of parallels between flying and investing. Some of the lessons that are the same for both endeavors are the importance of having and following a checklist and having a back-up or emergency plan when something does not go as planned. Additionally, it is important for people to have a mentor who helps them learn how to invest, just as it is important to have a flying instructor. David busts the myth that investing equals action. Sometimes, he says, the best investment decision is to take no action.

11. 146 - Why You Should Always Put Profit First With Mike Michalowicz
http://wealthywellthy.life/146... download (audio/mpeg, 35.11Mb)

Description:

On this episode of The Wealthy Wellthy Podcast, I welcome guest Mike Michalowicz. Mike is the entrepreneur behind three multimillion-dollar companies and is the author of Profit First, The Pumpkin Plan and what BusinessWeek deemed the entrepreneur’s cult classic, The Toilet Paper Entrepreneur. Profit First is one of my favorite books so I am very excited Mike joined me on this episode.

In this conversation, we take a closer look into Mike's “profit first” model and fiscal responsibility. I have taught so many of my clients about personal finance and how to use the profit that they take from their business into their household, but Mike points out one area entrepreneurs historically fall short is establishing how much profit they are going to take from their business first.

According to the Small Business Administration, 83% of small businesses are in check-to-check survival, and Mike notes that if your business is operating this way, you are not taking care of yourself and likely not listening to what your business is telling you about your margins. Mike speaks from experience on this subject, having evaporated all of his personal wealth at one point in his entrepreneurial journey due to “arrogance and ignorance”, his books and teachings are a guiding light for many new and seasoned business owners getting started on the path to profit.

Be sure to listen until the end as Mike gives us a sneak peek of his newest book, which will be hitting shelves in 2020. The topic surrounds the necessity hierarchy for business progression, which is based on research from businesses both big and small and always includes these steps: (1) Sales process, (2) Predictable profit, (3) Efficiency, (4) Impact, and (5) Legacy.

12. 145 - How A Hair Test Can Change Your Daily Health with Barton Scott
http://wealthywellthy.life/145... download (audio/mpeg, 49.62Mb)

Description:

Barton Scott and I met at a wachuma experience some time ago, and the more I learned about his company, the more I realized that I needed to have him on the Wealthy Wellthy podcast to share his knowledge with my listeners. Coming from a chemical engineering background, Barton knew that something strange was going on when, as a college athlete, his body was being depleted of nutrients even though he was taking plenty of supplements every day. His suspicions were confirmed when tests came back revealing that he was deficient in a lot of the same minerals he was taking every day, meaning that there was an issue with absorption. He soon realized that this was not an isolated situation but that many people who take supplements of certain minerals never actually receive the intended benefits.

Barton started Upgraded Formulas as a solution to this widespread problem, focusing first on doing hair analysis rather than blood to assess clients’ health trends over the past 6 weeks, and then using a technology Barton created to make the minerals able to be absorbed without digestion. On this episode, Barton gives me a consultation based on the results of my hair analysis, and the findings were very intriguing, to say the least. He gave me several recommendations of supplements to take or stop taking to get my minerals and heavy metals into the optimal ranges. I really appreciated Barton joining me on the show and I hope that you found his insights helpful for your wellbeing!

13. 144 - Fund Your Next Project Faster With Eve Picker
http://wealthywellthy.life/144... download (audio/mpeg, 21.77Mb)

Description:

On this episode of The Wealthy Wellthy Podcast, I interviewed Eve Picker, Founder, and CEO of Small Change, a crowdfunding site for real estate investing. Eve shared some of her background in urban design and community development and described how the economic shifts of the mid-2000s caused her to get involved in securities law unexpectedly. When the Jobs Act of 2012 loosened restrictions on crowdfunding, among other things, she realized the opportunity in front of her to use her new securities knowledge to support her first love of community development in the form of the Small Change crowdfunding platform.

Eve and I had a great chat about the drastic impact that her platform has had in allowing unaccredited investors to enter the real estate investing space as well as the positive impacts that developers, with projects on the site, are having on the communities where they’re working.

While many real estate developers and investors have found the wealth of opportunity available through Small Change, there is so much more potential for investors to see their money turn over much more quickly and with higher returns than their traditional retirement funds are able to achieve. Eve and her team are doing great work in the community development space and I look forward to continuing to hear about their growth in the future.

14. 143 - A Better Car Buying Experience with Lisa Copeland
http://wealthywellthy.life/143... download (audio/mpeg, 34.66Mb)

Description:

On this episode of the Wealthy Wellthy podcast, I talk with my friend Lisa Copeland about the car-buying experience. Lisa owned a very successful car dealership in Austin until she sold it a few years ago, and she has spent the time since then researching the female consumer and compiling her knowledge and experiences into her new book: “Car Buying Her Way”.

Lisa recognized early on that the automotive industry was male-dominated, and male salespeople often don’t have the patience or expertise to effectively work with female customers. Additionally, many women dread the car buying experience because of the perceived uncertainties and stress associated with the process. Lisa’s goal is to get the word out about the 4 steps everyone should take before going to the car dealership to take control of the situation and even enjoy the process: (1) Search for the car you want ahead of time, (2) know your budget, (3) know your down payment, and (4) know your trade-in value.

She also shares trade secrets and pulls back the curtain on where and how dealers make money, allowing consumers some flexibility and room to negotiate in good faith. The goal of her company and her podcast is to get the word out and empower women especially to confidently walk into a car dealership and leave with the exact car they wanted at the exact budget they set forth.

15. 142 - Discover Your Money Personality With Scott and Bethany Palmer
http://wealthywellthy.life/142... download (audio/mpeg, 52.39Mb)

Description:

The Money Couple, Scott and Bethany Palmer, joined me for this episode of The Wealthy Wellthy Podcast. Scott and Bethany are financial advisors that have devoted the past 11 years of their professional lives to helping couples save their marriages. Through their research, they found 80% of couples do not talk about money before they get married and 75% of divorces are caused by disagreements surrounding money or how it should be handled. Scott and Bethany want to change the narrative and help couples understand themselves and their spouses in an effort to create more open and amicable discussions about their finances.

Their perspective on marriage and money as well as their 5 Money Personalities framework is so helpful in understanding why things often break down and why spouses are often not on the same page. Couples have been brought back from the brink of divorce as a result of working with Scott and Bethany to identify their money personalities and creating a plan moving forward. Hopefully you will find this episode helpful for your own relationships and use Scott and Bethany’s tools for creating a solid plan to relieve a lot of the stress and tension that tends to surround financial discussions.

16. 141 - Design Your Power And Purpose With Natalie Matushenko
http://wealthywellthy.life/141... download (audio/mpeg, 39.46Mb)

Description:

On this episode of The Wealthy Wellthy Podcast, my new friend Natalie Matushenko joined me to discuss her passion for helping men and women design their power and purpose during the second half of their lives. Natalie personally experienced a mindset shift when her hormones began changing in her late 30s and her epiphany was that she wanted to step back from her job in the financial sector to help others.

Many people, particularly women, spend their 20s and 30s caring for their children and families, and when their kids are out of the house and their hormones begin changing, they find themselves wondering if they are really doing what they want to do with their lives. Through this subtle shift or as a result of a specific event, they often realize that they have the time and space to be more self-aware and even pursue goals or dreams that they have never thought possible. Perhaps they are disenchanted with the career ladder they have been climbing in the pursuit of “more” and want to do something that will make a difference.

These people would be wise to seek counsel from Natalie or someone like her who is experienced in coaching people as they “climb the second mountain.” Many of Natalie’s clients come into their first meeting under the assumption that they are “too old”, to which Natalie replies: “Too old for what? What is the alternative?” Often, people get in their own ways and let their negative beliefs shape their decision making, when the best thing they can do for themselves is let go and dream a little.

17. 140 - How To Start Writing Your Book With Kelly Notaras
http://wealthywellthy.life/140... download (audio/mpeg, 33.72Mb)

Description:

Kelly Notaras is an author and editor who spent her early adult life learning the book publishing industry and perfecting her craft before going out on her own and starting KN Literary Arts. She joins me for this episode of The Wealthy Wellthy Podcast.

Everyone has a message that they want to tell the world, but very few people know how to get started. Do I build up a following first? How do I become known as a thought leader? What is the best hook for my book? Is it better to self-publish or send proposals to traditional publishers to hopefully get a book deal? Kelly answers these questions and many more during our time together, and she will certainly inspire listeners to put some more thought into their own perspective books that have always been on the back burner.

Kelly pulls back the curtain on the book publishing industry and busts a lot of the myths that have persisted and given people the wrong ideas about what writing a book is really like. Having just published a book of her own (“The Book You Were Born to Write”) along with her extensive experience helping others along their journeys, Kelly is in a prime spot to coach, encourage, and guide those who are considering writing their own book.

In terms of financial benefits, Kelly discusses the additional revenue streams that can be opened up by writing a book, especially when your book builds brand recognition and credibility that leads people to want to purchase more of your products or services. Entrepreneurs are at an advantage when it comes to the marketing aspects of publishing a book as well, because these marketing activities make up a majority of their efforts, even more than the actual writing of the book. I personally found my conversation with Kelly very informative and inspiring, and I hope you will too.

18. 139 - What You Don’t Know About Crowdfunding With Mark Roderick
http://wealthywellthy.life/139... download (audio/mpeg, 49.20Mb)

Description:

Our guest on this episode of The Wealthy Wellthy Podcast is Mark Roderick, an attorney who devotes most of his time to crowdfunding. Maybe you are like me in thinking that crowdfunding is pretty straightforward and self-explanatory. I mean, if your friend is looking to start a business and you want to support them, you can donate or invest through their crowdfunding page online and that’s that, right?

Every entrepreneur faces the stage in their business where they need to acquire capital, either from acquaintances, networking, angel investors, venture capitalists, or strategic partners. This process is messy and confusing, filled with regulations and stipulations that may make acquiring the capital more trouble than it is worth. This was partially due to the antiquated laws that were created in the aftermath of The Great Depression and were stifling in the modern economic climate. However, in 2012, the Jobs Act made it legal for entrepreneurs to advertise to raise capital. This opened up a whole new world for small business owners and others who were desperate to be able to connect more easily with potential investors as well as investors who were eager to find new opportunities.

During the interview, Mark distinguishes between the 3 kinds of crowdfunding: (1) to accredited investors only, (2) Regulation A to accredited or non accredited investors, and (3) Title 3 – which is the most common. He also talks about the factors that are most important from a legal perspective when you are determining which crowdfunding site to use to raise capital or to invest capital. It was also interesting to hear Mark spell out the 3 reasons why people invest through crowdfunding: (1) they want to support the company, (2) to do social good, and (3) to make money.

Mark even gave me some advice about a real estate deal I am considering and revealed that 90-95% of the capital exchanged through crowdfunding is for real estate transactions. Finally, he busted a couple of myths regarding the amount of risk involved in crowdfunding and whether money raised from others is subject to securities laws.

19. 138 - The Distinction Between Health And Fitness With Ali Watts
http://wealthywellthy.life/138... download (audio/mpeg, 52.31Mb)

Description:

On this episode of The Wealthy Wellthy Podcast, I got to chat with Ali Watts about fitness, health, nutrition, sleep, managing stress, and so much more. Ali has a real passion for life and for helping others get what they want out of life, which is often not what they initially think they want. She has a knack for helping people see the root of their desire to get fit, lose weight, or be healthy.

Ali and I share a lot of the same views on health and fitness, but at the same time she taught me so much during our conversation about the importance of sleep and especially emphasizing how you are eating as much as what you are eating. We also share a mentality that tries to force us to just keep pushing and never slow down, and Ali talks about several times in her life where her body instead forced her to slow down, even on the brink of death.

Many people view fitness as a stress reliever, but it is – in fact – a stressor. Ali describes how if you are coming home from a stressful day at work, the least healthy thing for you to do might be to go to the gym. You should instead listen to your body, connect with a loved one, eat a nutritious dinner, and get a good night’s sleep. For those who find a good night’s sleep elusive, Ali provides some stellar and free tips to try to ensure that you fall asleep quickly and stay asleep throughout the night. This episode was jam-packed with helpful tidbits that we can all implement into our lives, so I hope you’ll give it a listen!

57. 104 [Elsewhere] Krisstina on Build Your Network
http://wealthywellthy.life/104... download (audio/mpeg, 27.99Mb)

Description:

Original Show Notes:

On this episode of Build Your Network, Host Travis Chappell interviews Krisstina Wise, real estate mogul, millionaire coach, author, and creator of several multi-million-dollar businesses.

Here’s what Travis and Krisstina discuss in this episode:

About Krisstina Wise Excited about what’s coming next this year. Working on her second book. Promoting her first book, Falling for Money How did you get into the real estate business? It’s in her blood, both her parents were in real estate. Her father had an appreciation for true pride of ownership. She has an old-school and rugged way of thinking of real estate. She’s more interested in the narrative and relationships, building trust. Real estate then became a personal passion for her in building wealth and net worth. Started as a way to make money and turned into a way to build wealth. She now teaches people about how money works and real estate is a part of that. Give us a timeline of your success. She started real estate in college and it took about three years for her to be able to support herself and her family. When you have a true love and passion you get to the top quickly. During her divorce her financial situation fell apart. She had a moment where she realized you can earn high incomes and be successful and still be broke. The bigger the percentage between what we spend and what we make the more we invest and the faster we build wealth. If we choose convenience and instant gratification, we have to be okay with the sum at the end of that equation. When our residual income replaces our working income, we reach freedom. Real estate investing is one way to start building future cash flow. Can millennials save their way to wealth? You cannot save your way to wealth, you must invest. Savings is putting money away in a savings account and we put certain amounts of money there. The reason why we save is because there are times when big expenses pop out of the blue and they would blow your budget. There’s an average of $3,000 of unplanned expenses per year. If you spend the exact amount that you make and you want to go on vacation, you end up putting it on a credit card. You have the best of intentions to pay it off, but there’s no way unless you get a rise in income. Savings accounts are for future spending. You have to earn your way to wealth, but what does that mean? The key to solving your financial problems is not just earning more money. Parkinson’s Law – your lifestyle will always rise to meet your income. Financial freedom is just time freedom. It can only be attained through investing, not earning. You’re not building your portfolio, you’re building your future cash flow. If we’re earning $250,000 you might still feel broke because you’re on the hamster wheel of “earn, spend.” Your planned expenses will then go up and your credit card bills and balances will also go up. We need to make sure our bodies are no longer our ATM, our assets are. Conventional finance is still built on the industrial age. Hold your lifestyle expenses tight but get excited about investing. What is your wealth a result of and how does networking fit in? Relationships that come out of networking. Your marriage is a part of your financial balance sheet because it can be a financial asset. Your business and your health go on the balance sheet. Helping others, making introductions, etc. What’s the need for money and business if it’s not about other people in your life? The ultimate return from relationships is better than wealth.
