1. You Might be a Caregiver If…
https://www.blogtalkradio.com/... download (audio/mpeg, 56.30Mb)

Description: Peter Rosenberger is the host of Hope for the Caregiver, a syndicated radio program heard weekly on 200 stations. For more than 30 years, he’s cared for his wife, Gracie, who lives with severe disabilities. Peter is the author of books including 7 Caregiver Landmines: And How You Can Avoid Them, and has been featured in USA Today, AARP Magazine, U.S. News & World Report, Yale Tribune, NYU Dispatch, Harvard University, Yahoo Finance OpenLine, WND, American Thinker, MarketWatch, Detroit Online, and interviewed on television by Steven Forbes, on The 700 Club with Pat Robertson and an encore interview, and Maria Bartiromo with Steve Forbes. We'll talk with him and with any luck, his wife and muse, Gracie may join us. For fun, Peter has done a stand-up comedy skit with Jeff Foxworthy titled, You Might be a Caregiver If… Peter and Gracie founded Standing with Hope, a Christian ministry with a prosthetic limb ministry in West Africa and a Ministry to Family Caregivers. Peter said, "If you love someone, you’ll be a caregiver. If you live long enough, you’ll need one. Through our caregiver outreach, we’re helping those who help," and Gracie said, "It’s not enough for me to help my fellow amputees stand. We do all this to share the Gospel and equip them to continue Standing With Hope." Peter finds the humor and his God in caregiving and can help other cargivers do the same. Call us with your questions for Peter. 516-418-5651 @hope4caregiver Learn more! Standing With Hope

https://www.blogtalkradio.com/... download (audio/mpeg, 51.74Mb)

Description: Jeff Kreisler, Editor in Chief of PeopleScience.com is also the co-author of  Dollars and Sense akong with Duke Professor Dan Ariely. Jeff gave us tips on how to spend smarter. At the end of August, bUneke received a press release, announcing that September 6 is Fight Procrastination Day, and suggested we may want to talk with Jeff about this because "companies need employees to stop procrastinating and get to work." We weren't procrastinating, but we were swamped with getting the next issue out, so the press release wasn't read until much later. Jeff graciously agreed to join us, anyway! We'll discuss some of the tools that are able to identify the decision-making biases and unconscious drivers of their employees’ delay and avoid tactics. We had a great chat about rational money choices, the science behind why people love "a good sale"  and his book, Get Rich Cheating, which led into a conversation about how money messes with our heads. Forgotten Enchantress represents a $10,000 in-kind donation from PEACECORE, based on film industry standards, but that figure cannot represent the passion and drive behind the film. Since the film's premeire, the Green Gables organization has raised more than $40,000 toward its goal of $285,000, which is a small part needed to purchase the house and its beautiful green space on the Indian River in Melbourne, Florida. Marion will return to bUneke Radio in March for a Pledge-A-Thon. Be sure to tune in and call 516-418-5651 with your pledges!

17. Wyland
https://www.blogtalkradio.com/... download (audio/mpeg, 54.57Mb)

Description: Internationally renowned marine life artist Wyland is one of the most celebrated and recognized artists of our time.  An innovative painter, sculpture, writer, photographer, philanthropist, and filmmaker, he captured the imagination of people everywhere by completing over one hundred monumental marine life murals around the world from 1981-2008. The project, known as the Whaling Walls, remains one of the largest public arts projects in history and continues to be seen by an estimated one billion people each year. An avid SCUBA diver and world traveler, the Detroit-born artist has been hailed a “Marine Michaelangelo” by USA Today and recognized for his art and conservation efforts by the United Nations and on the floor of Congress.  His giant ocean mural on the convention center in Long Beach, Calif., covering over 3 acres, landed him in the Guinness Book of World Records for the largest mural ever painted. Several years later in recognition of Earth Day, he doubled the size of that mural by completing the largest portrait of the earth on earth on the building’s three-acre roof — in only 24 hours. His newest public art project, 100 Monumental Sculptures in 100 Great Cities around the world, includes plans to sculpt all the great whale species, as well as endangered and threatened animals from the IUCN Red List. Ten of these monumental sculptures will be underwater. “My art has always been about art and conservation,” Wyland says. “I was inspired in the early 70s by Green Peace, the first Earth Day, and from watching my hero Jacques Cousteau’s Undersea World television series. I was simply an artist in the right place at the right time in history, and I felt strongly that art could play an important role in bringing attention to environmental issues.”  Learn more! buneke.org or Wyland.com

https://www.blogtalkradio.com/... download (audio/mpeg, 74.90Mb)

Description: Sheri Sather created an Instagram page called Power of Pen Pals after a road trip where her son, Justin met Sammie, one of his pen pals, hundreds of miles away. Eight-year-old Justin has been communicating with Sammie and other children and Sheri decided to turn a family vacation into a chance for her sons to meet Sammie. They met Perise Forbi, a college student working in Cameroon to reduce the overwhelming plastic pollution in his country . Perise reached out to Justin, through the Power of Pen Pals page for ideas to manage the plastic he and others have been collecting.  Through Power of Pen Pals, many conservationists have stepped forward with ideas. Justin, who created an organization called Justin's Frog Project (For the Love of Frogs), has been inspired by children and young adults all over the world and has created a map(?) that shows where they all live. One of his goals is to visit each of them, just as he visited Sammie, in Indiana. Sammie Vance approached her mother with an idea when she was little more than eight years old. Her mom, Heidi,  helped Sammie make an appointment with her school's principal,  who would need to sign off on the idea. Sammie, herself a little shy, wanted to discuss how she could recycle plastic bottle caps into a Buddy Bench that would encourage even the most shy students to find new friends. Her project was so successful, her school now has two benches and she has created a global movement before her 10th birthday! Power of Pen Pals connects people from all demographics who want to make the world better, whether by eliminating loneliness or wiping out plastic pollution so the world's frogs aren't wiped out. This podcast goes beyond Power of Pen Pals by bringing Justin,  Perise and Sammie together for our listeners. You can read their individual stories on buneke.org.

https://www.blogtalkradio.com/... download (audio/mpeg, 47.00Mb)

Description: Confucius said: "Choose a job you love and you'll never have to work a day in your life!” While job choices were more limited back then, this statement still holds true today. By living a life of purpose, a life can be transformed both personally and professionally. Author Craig Sroda has made it his mission to guide people towards ways that work for them to live their lives intentionally, with the goal to influence 100,000 people to create a life plan by 2022. He believes the ripple effect from their transformation will influence one million more people, which will be repeated and continue to "pay it forward.” Craig's new book, The Ultimate Manual, is packed with valuable information on how to accomplish this, with step-by-step instructions to help stay on track. Anyone of any age who is seeking purpose and looking for affirmation for their life direction will find valuable information between the covers of The Ultimate Manual that will help them live their lives on purpose — with purpose — and minimize regrets. Craig Sroda's mission is to guide people toward ways that work for them to live their lives intentionally. His goal is to influence 100,000 people to create a life plan by 2022. With the ripple effect, those 100,000 people will influence one million through their five domains of life: personal, family, vocation, community and faith. His previous books include You in the Sweet Spot and Intentional Living and Leadership. After completing his first life plan and exposing priorities of his faith, his wife, three daughters and wanting to help others live on purpose, he sold his company. He is committed to helping others recognize their natural strengths and know their "why.”

26. Why Must we Save Green Gables?
https://www.blogtalkradio.com/... download (audio/mpeg, 42.12Mb)

Description: Some of bUneke's volunteers visited Green Gables at Historic Riverview Village in Melbourne, Florida and we fell in love with the lawn, the 19th century Queen Anne architecture, the storyteller and the property's loving caregivers. We also fell in love with the mission of the nonprofit that has taken on the challenge to raise $1Million to purchase the property from its current owners, descendants of the original owners, William and Nora Wells. The Wells was a family of philanthropists and innovators. Nora's uncle founded Stanford University. Nora and Willam donated land to build Melbourne's first library and auditorium and were instrumental in much of the city's progression. To lose this home, which is on the National Register of Historical Houses, would be shameful enough, but to have the home and property razed and replaced with another convenience store is unthinkable. Yet, that is the reality this beautiful old home faces if the nonprofit organization determined to Save Green Gables cannot raise the remaining funds by deadline of April 2020. One philanthropist could step up and donate the entire $285,000 necessary to qualify for matching funds or 15,000 philanthropists can each donate just $20 to meet this goal. Donate in memory of someone or in honor of a loved one and present them with a tax-deductible receipt and know that you are preserving history before it's lost forever. Learn more!
