9. Welcome! http://fu10minplayfestival.blo... download (, 0.00Mb) Description: Welcome to the podcast and blog for the second annual Student Directed Ten-Minute Play Festival. We're glad you're here. We're going to be trying some exciting and new things here, and we hope to get you excited too. Here's what's going on: Last year the juniors of the Theatre Department at Furman University collaborated together to create the first ever Student Directed Ten-Minute Play Festival. Six students directed six plays, two of which were written by students. The cast consisted entirely of students and all the technical work and publicity was done by, you guessed it, STUDENTS. The theme of the festival was "just the basics" because of the simple performance style. It was wildly successful, selling out all three nights (and Furman students were stoked because it was a CLP event, too.) Now, the juniors of this year, with a special returning senior director and a special sophomore guest director are back with another collection of plays that will excite, delight and mortify you. In other words, it's back to the basics. We're bringing some exciting changes to the festival (this blog is one of them) but it is still going to be a festival done BY STUDENTS and FOR STUDENTS. So we hope you'll get involved. That's all for now, but there's lots more to come. If you put your e-mail address in that box on the right, you'll be automatically notified when we update the website, so if that's your idea of fun- GO FOR IT. Stay tuned for much, much more! |
