1. How I Spent My Summer Vacation

Description:

This is the logo I use at the iTunes store and this week's missive is about iTunes, file conversion, stats, downloads and all the other weirdness I've discovered in my first month of podcasting.

Plus, a shout out to The Commoner's View of the World and The Psychology of Podcasting, a couple of podcasts I've been enjoying lately and a look ahead to two new podcasts coming your way.

BTW - I had some clipping issues with the iTalk mic in this epidode. There is just no good way to manage sound levels with this thing, it's hit or miss. In keeping with the experimental nature of these podcasts I've left it as is. I will have to come up with a work around.

2. Jay Davis
http://ipodinterviews.blogspot... download (, 0.00Mb)

Description:

Jay Davis is a birder, programmer, inventor and iPod owner who combined these dissimilar passions into one of the coolest applications for the iPod that you've ever seen - The birdPod.

I sat down for a talk with Jay about all those subjects, plus the "meta-software" that he wrote to assemble The birdPods. I think his amazing software will open up new avenues for content creators interested in programming specialty audio works for the iPod.

3. A Meditation on the Blues
http://ipodinterviews.blogspot... download (, 0.00Mb)

Description:

This weekend some old friends of mine will be playing The North Atlantic Blues Festival. If I were there, and not currently living in Atlanta, I'd be with them. The festival runs for two days, July 9 and 10, 2005, and is held at Harbor Park in Rockland, Maine, overlooking picturesque Rockland Harbor.

This iPod Interview is a meditation on the blues, musicians and playing your heart out for the shear joy of it. Plus, the story of one of the greatest, unknown, unnamed, unsigned blues bands to ever step into a recording studio and I have the tape that proves it.

4. Emma Crossen
http://ipodinterviews.blogspot... download (, 0.00Mb)

Description:

Emma Crossen is about to undertake the journey of a lifetime. In a few short weeks, she'll leave the comfort and safety of a home she's always known, in Terra Haute, Indiana and trade it all for the adventure of living, for a year, in Hyderabad, India.

Emma was recently in Atlanta to visit and say goodbye to friends. We sat and talked awhile about her trip, her expectations and her surprising reasons for going. I hope you enjoy our interview. We'll be keeping in touch with Emma, over the next year, as she explores her new life in Hyderabad.

5. Welcome to The iPod Interviews
http://ipodinterviews.blogspot... download (, 0.00Mb)

Description:

This is my experiment in blogging, podcasting and the art of the interview. I still have a lot to learn, but I have managed to post my first podcast, an introduction to the site and what I hope it will become. You can also download the mp3 file over there on the right.

If you want to read about what's going on here and how it got started check out this sidebar. All my external files are kept at my other site: www.enews-media.com, so don't be alarmed at the change in the URL.

I look forward to your comments and suggestions. I hope you enjoy The iPod Interviews. Thanks for stopping by.
