2. CarsonatorTV? Maybe? http://feeds.feedburner.com/~r... download (application/x-shockwave-flash, 0.07Mb) Description: Stay with me as I figure out how to do this! Right now the clips are limited to 30 seconds each - but will play sequentially; so as I add new clips they will appear at the end of the stream and will be refreshed a couple of times a day. Also, I'll look at getting another feed setup in reverse chronological order and post a subscribe link from here and probably embed the player on www.myspace.com/jasoncarsonmusic. |

4. Right Now! http://feeds.feedburner.com/~r... download (audio/mpeg, 19.01Mb) Description: This post features a new song called "Right Now!" I wrote it with Steve Austin a few days ago in my garage. I recorded the audio of us actually writing the chorus (it wrote itself in about 4 minutes). I recorded the first live performance of our new song with the iRiver at The Listening Room in Franklin, TN in the round with the Writer's Posse. Stay tuned after the song for some writer's chat with the Writer's Posse "Scout Master" himself; Jeff Dayton. Thanks to my kid brother Ben for this awsome picture of my kids! |

5. "Happyness" at the Kitchen Table http://feeds.feedburner.com/~r... download (audio/mpeg, 6.25Mb) Description: This is the first recording of "Happyness" that I have. I took it at Steve's house sitting at his kitchen table with Matt Snodgrass on a lazy weekday afternoon before everyone got home from work/school. We were discussing the general vibe of the song and Matt started beat-boxing.... so we just recorded it! This recording was the framework for our perfomance at the Bluebird Cafe. Even though the recording is ruff in spots (I sat the MacBook on Steve's kitchen table and hit the record button) without a doubt; it's still my favorite one that I have... go figure! Even though Brian (middle) was not there for this recording, the song itself would not be what it is today without him as a writer on it. In fact, I want to thank both Steve (Left) and Brian for writing "Happyness" with me; this episode goes out to the two of them. I believe this song has great things in it's future for all of us. Just for good measure I'm pasting the lyrics as a comment to this post. |

6. Why Won't You? Live at Lyrix http://feeds.feedburner.com/~r... download (audio/mpeg, 8.86Mb) Description: There is something about this song that still moves me. Usually I get tired of my own songs after playing them a few hundred times; but this one sticks... dunno why. I'm joined in the round at Lyrix by my good friends Shaunna Bolton and Lee Rascone. And, of course, the one and only Steve Austin drops in at the end. |

13. CP012-Speak Out and Be Heard! http://feeds.feedburner.com/~r... download (audio/mpeg, 47.92Mb) Description: This is a real book (I know!) that I saw as I was browsing the shelves of a local bookstore this weekend (no, I didn't buy it)! It's amazing though; I consider myself a person of faith and yet I have no idea where our president is coming from with regard to his policy in general, but most specifically regarding our current situation in Iraq and his policies on world deplomacy. I take some time during this eposode to speak my mind regarding our president's actions and voice my response to a call sent out by my good friend and fellow artist/podcaster David Ippolito to call on our conservative minded friends to shed some light on how it is that conservatives in this country feel about our president and his policies. It's not all politics though! I share with you music from the podsafe music network, and feature Matthew Ebel as part of a LIVE roundtable disscussion on the The Big Break Live podcast with host; Don Lewis. I also have a great idea for my conservative friend on how he should be using his talents to better the world. Curious? You'll have to listen to find out what that is.... Thanks for listening and I hope to see you all at Podsafe Music Live! |

15. CP010-Interconnectedness http://feeds.feedburner.com/~r... download (audio/mpeg, 39.79Mb) Description: This week I try my hand at being a DJ! Actually, I spent so much time messing around on MySpace that I forgot to do my show prep for the podcast this week. Well, as it would turn out all the time I waisted on MySpace turned me onto some amazing talent and gave me more than enough music to fill an episode. About halfway thru the making of this podcast I reallize how interconnected we all are in the "PODoshpere"; and how all the music that I'm playing has a sort of 'story' to how I came accross these awsome independent artists. I provide links to all the artists and info in my del.icio.us shownotes. Thanks for listening and come back next week! |

16. CP009-The Catch All Episode http://feeds.feedburner.com/~r... download (audio/mpeg, 62.20Mb) Description: Welcome back for another episode! This is the catch-all episode; the one where I take the time to do all the things that I've meant to do, play all the songs I've meant to play, and feature the people I've always meant to... like my good friend Bill Borlies. I've had him on the poscast before; but never taken the time to sit down and let you all take a trip thru his head... It's quite fun to do; at least for me. Thanks Bill for being a great sport and coming on the podcast. Thanks to David from thatguitarman.com for writing a wonderful and funny song that my kids and I LOVE to sing with each other. If you just found the podcast, thanks for stopping by. I hope you take the time to sample and enjoy this crazy mashup of my life and times. I hope you'll like what you hear and come back each week for more. |

17. CP008-Brand New http://feeds.feedburner.com/~r... download (audio/mpeg, 58.41Mb) Description: This week I had the pleasure of attending the release party for Jason Fitz's new CD "Brand New". In this episode I play some of my favorites from the show plus a live recording of a song that "kicked my ass" from Dereck George, who opened the show for Jason that night. Also in this episode I hold a "press conference" with Karen... well, ok it's more like a phone interview... well, ok it's more like a brain drain over the phone... anyhow; Karen was curious as to the direction this podcast is taking for the purpose of writing a press release. I'm not sure but I may have only confused her further; listen and decide if you know what I mean. I open the show with a couple of ideas I'm working on; Listen and participate. That is the idea behind sharing my creative process with you. By all means, please send feedback. Ta lk to you next week. |

18. CP007-Four Squares of LIfe http://feeds.feedburner.com/~r... download (audio/mpeg, 37.24Mb) Description: We are going to change gears just a bit on the Carsonator Podcast from here on out. This week Steve and I sat down together to watch Al Goreâs movie âAn Inconvenient Truthâ?, and were so inspired by what we saw that our perspectives on life and what we are here to do will never be the same. Please listen to this episode with an open mind; I strongly invite anyone who has not already watched this film to do so as soon as possible. After doing this, if you are as inspired as we were, please send me some feedback and share your thoughts on the subject of global warming. I want so much to enjoy our future on this planet. If you are involved in or know of anything that I could lend my talents to help further the cause, please get in touch with me. I want to do my part. Itâs not all doomsday on the show, though. In fact none if it is! Itâs about what we can do; NOT just what is going to happen! To that point; Everything starts with shedding your fear! EVERYTHING! Steve and I wrote a song about just that and share it with all of you in this episode. Climbing mountains begins with the first step, and Steve takes that step this week in converting his household over to one that recycles! And finally, I introduce you all to a person that I have never met, but I already consider a good friend. His name is David Ippolito; That guitar man from Central Park. I already feel a strong connection to this dude and in this episode I share the first step of what I hope is a long list of works that we will share ideas and collaborate on. Listen to what we did and give me some feedback. Thatâs it for this week! Iâm working of Fridays again, so this may turn into a weekend podcastâ weâll see how things go. Thank you all for stopping by. Please consider using the links to your right to get subscribed to this podcast. Talk to you all next week. |

19. CP006-Hope Floats http://feeds.feedburner.com/~r... download (audio/mpeg, 48.04Mb) Description: Starting off the New Year with a song about hopeâ how poignant! So, two of my good songwriting buddies Butch and Steve came over to the Carsonator Studios on New Years Day and we were able to help me finish an idea that we had been working on here and there for the last few weeks. I think it came out great and I couldnât wait to get a polished reference track done on this one before I shared it with you! Be sure to check myspace.com/jasoncarsonmusic for a reference track of it that as soon as itâs ready. Thanks Butch and Steve for letting me be a part of this one. I love you guys. Letâs write more like this one. You know, in my opinion, the craft of co-writing is the ability to let go of fear of judgment and just talk or play out what you are feeling insideâ what you believeâ regardless of what your partner may think of you; so that you can let the authentic stuff work itâs way out. Thatâs the stuff that we are all after as songwriters. Steve and I have conversations like that all the time; the stuff that plants the seeds for our songs. On this weeks show (as I have in past shows) I play one of those conversations. Give it a listen and perhaps it will give you some ideas of your own to put to paper. Open it up and receive! (Brought to you by Taco Bell) ï? I also play music from LivinTrust and Rascal Flatts. Two songs that I can identify with and inspire me to write songs like them. I hope you enjoy the showâ Talk to you next week. |

21. CP004-Working Christmas Special http://feeds.feedburner.com/~r... download (audio/mpeg, 59.74Mb) Description: This is going to have to pass as my Christmas special this year. I had originally planned on something much different but, due to circumstances beyond my control, I had to spend the last couple of days working a side job for some extra cash for the holidays. The good part is that I have a great friend in Steve Austin who needed an extra hand helping with a remodeling job out in Hermitage, TN. While working that job, I was able to bring the iRiver along and capture some audio content enough to piece a show together. This episode is about letting go of fear, going after your dreams, and finding time to connect with those in your life that mean the most to youâ that can pass for a Christmas themeâ. right? I used a lot of original material during this show. First is a new song that Steve and I wrote this week called âLoosing Is Better Than What Might Have Beenâ?. Next is a song I wrote with a long time buddy of mine Jeff Dayton called âCome Alongâ?. I throw in a live recording of the traditional Christmas song âLittle Drummer Boyâ? as performed by the band formerly known as Shiloh, and finish off with another original I wrote with Steve called âSorry Donât Fix It Anymoreâ?. Iâm grateful for all the wonderful people I have in my life. I am very fortunate to know many people that care so much for me and are willing to be there for me when I need them. Thank you to all that help me to focus on my desires, overcome my fears, and who continue to support me in pursuing my dreams. I love you all. Have a fun and safe Holiday everybody! See you in the New Year! |

22. CP003-Go For Your Dreams! http://feeds.feedburner.com/~r... download (audio/mpeg, 57.56Mb) Description: CONGRATULATIONS! You have the winning lotto ticket worth millions. What exactly do you plan on doing with it? Are you just going to frame it and place it on your wall to look at and think about that great day you won? Are you going to hide it away because fear of someone stealing it is far too great for you to bear? Will you stick it under your pillow and dream about how you are going to spend all that money? All real options for any winner -- I am thinking you are saying: "Are you crazy? I am going to go in and claim my money. That other stuff is stupid." Really? Because we do that to dreams, aspirations, and desires. We don't claim them. Our talents, passions and desires get put into picture frames about the times we did something well. They could be trophies on a shelf gathering dust. They could be recordings on a CD or DVD that never gets played. They come in many forms. We pull them out when the topic comes up and someone says "You did what?" and we boast a little and reflect. Normally the conversation is followed by "Why aren't you doing that now?" Can you answer that? We does fear that our dreams will be taken away, stolen from us, as we succeed or tackle the opposition stop us? Is that real? Can those dreams be taken from us or if we truly desire something, can't we find a way around every hill and obstacle in front of us? If the front door is locked, can't we try the back door? And if the back door is locked, can't we try a window? And if the windows are closed - do you know if there is a chimney? As long as we are actively seeking, won't we see the crack in the wall we can slip through? As long as we keep trying and moving forward, aren't we making headway? What good is lying in bed staring at the ceiling dreaming about something we want to do or become? How does that get us there? It's a start-- we get direction from that, but without taking steps to CLAIM it, it is merely a thought. We will wonder in circles instead of getting to our destination. Remember Moses' journey was 40 years when it should have been days!! Claim what you want! Claim your dreams! |

23. CP002-Jealousy and Insecurity http://feeds.feedburner.com/~r... download (audio/mpeg, 37.74Mb) Description: From left to right: Carson, Brian, Tony, Amanda. "Jealousy is all the fun you think they had." -Erica Jong "Jealousy is that pain which a man feels from the apprehension that he is not equally beloved by the person whom he entirely loves" -Joseph Addison I'm going to feature the very talented Tony Lucca on the podcast today and share a piece of audio I took in Brian's garage the night before we went to a recent show of Tony's at 3rd and Lindsley here in Nashville. I could choose to be too embarresed to share this with you, or I can choose to see my jealousy for the ugly emotion that it is and perhaps do what I can to share the emotion with you in the hopes that it may inspire or help you in dealing with your own jealousy and insecurity in some way... maybe I presume too much; but I do believe that we all struggle with these emotions in our own lives... at least until we learn to overcome them. My intention is not to offend; Sit back, relax, and jam those earbuds in. Enjoy it if you can, and try not to judge. I'm just being honest about my own dishonesty to myself and to those that bear the brunt of my jealousy and insecurity. |

24. CP001-Sorry Don't Fix It Anymore http://feeds.feedburner.com/~r... download (audio/mpeg, 24.53Mb) Description: Welcome everybody from "I Love The Compay" podcast! Thanks to David Ippolito for your kind words on ILTC#167! Right back at you man! I love your company! Check the del.icio.us/carsonator shownotes for a link to David's page. This is my first try at using Castblaster to edit a "show" together. I love it that y'all took the time to check out my blog and try it for a spell... stay if you like what you hear. Please post a comment or send me an email with your feedback. I'd love to make this a better experience and encourage everybody to contribute. First on today's show we meet my 8 year old son Mitchell as he performs one of his newest songs for the podcast audience. Yes! He definately has it in his soul to express himself with a song. No doubt you'll hear more from him as he discovers his craft... Then, I have a new idea I want to share with y'all; it's something I happened upon while hanging out with Steve Austin while working on another idea that I'll share with you at the end of the show called "Sorry Don't Fix It Anymore". Well, that's it! What do you think? Post a comment! Send me an email! I can't wait to hear from you! |

25. God Is Laughing At Us! http://feeds.feedburner.com/~r... download (audio/mpeg, 20.52Mb) Description: Join Brian, Steve and me in my garage as on a we work on several different song ideas, laugh about what not and record it all for you... In recent days several people have asked me, Why am I releasing casual songwriting sessions straight to my blog without editing them at all. What could possibly be interesting or compelling about that? In short answer: I want to share the creative process with those that are interested in knowing where songs come from; at least where my songs come from... Please feel free to jam your earbuds in and let yourself be part of the creative process. If by participating in this you have any ideas or thoughts you would like to share, please post a comment, send me an email or an audio attachment. I would love to involve others in this process using the series of tubes we call the Internet. Who knows? Perhaps we can discover a cool way to collaborate on music, the podcast, and whatever else this web mashup becomes. |

Not too long ago, Andy (Animal) and Brian (Sebastien) came over to the Carsonator Podcasting Complex for a sit down and a chat. Be sure to check the del.icio.us/carsonator< /a> shownotes for all the related links. And, as always; please send feedback in email or audio comment. 30. File it and go play! http://feeds.feedburner.com/~r... download (, 0.00Mb) Description: Karen has such a talent for writing just what I need to hear... I have to share it with you all. Very nicely said. C FILE IT AND GO PLAY! How many times have things happened in your life where you try to figure out why things have gone south? Why a relationship didnât work? Why someone appears to be angry at you all the time? Why you didnât get that promotion or raise you think you deserve?
And why is it we always question ourselves about these situations? Why do we think if we had only did something different the result would have changed to our favor? And what about the things we will never know the answer to? How do we go on without rehashing issues that will never be resolved?
Do you have that filing cabinet we have in our mind that stores memories? do you have that place we store memories and thoughts of years gone by? Every once and a while someone says or does something to you and BAM, something emerges in your mind you havenât thought about in years. Where was that stored?
I have always envisioned an old filing cabinet, grey in color, with several drawers of files and this cabinet resides within my mind. In the far, far, far back of the bottom drawer I have an âI donât knowâ? file. Over the years I have filed away some dandy items. Failed relationships, weird things that happen without explanation, some pain and some hurt resides in there too. This way I find I donât have to keep holding on to the thoughts as if I am trying to remember what happened in case the answer appears.
Oh yes, there are times the answer appears. Maybe years later at a class reunion when that boy you always wanted to date comes up and says to you âGee, I always wanted to take you out,â? or maybe someone hurt you and a few years later when what they did to you happens to them, they get the backbone to call you and say, "I blew it.â? You see there is no limitation to opening up the cabinet and pulling out the file â ending the cold case with a resolution. But that is not what is important here. What is important is the fact you filed it away in the first place.
When we dwell on things we may never get the answer to, we eat up our energy and our time. When something happens in our lives that send us off into wondering what we could/should/would have done, we need to realize that there is a huge possibility it had nothing to do with us. There is nothing we could have done, said, or suggested that would have changed the outcome. We just DONâT KNOW what happened. We donât know why someone decides to walk or hurt us. We donât really know what is going on in their heart or head. And it most likely has nothing to do with us.
Therefore wasting our energy and time trying to figure someone out or what went wrong may be more impossible than building our own space ship to ride to the moon. File it away. Move on. Take that energy you are saving and use it to create passion, dreams, life. Who wants to waste our precious moments on this earth with such trivial thoughts about a person or thing we cannot control and whose mind we cannot read.
Itâs a whole lot more fun to go out and play then it is to attempt to resolve something you canât control. Go play â it will be in your file if you ever need to retrieve it. Donât worry about forgetting about it, you wonât. Just go playâ. Live life to your fullest. And if you are to have the answer, know it will come. If not, then why worry? Go play. |

35. Loose Change, Anyone? http://feeds.feedburner.com/~r... download (, 0.00Mb) Description: I skyped with Shian of Anarchy-X Podcast today and took the opportunity to make the upgrade to Skype 2.0 and see how everything works; it's definately better. But, they didn't make it any easier to record a conversation using Ca kewalk Sonar... if any of you know anything about that... please share. :-) Anyway, he turned me onto a very thought provoking documentary called "Loose Change"; Written and Directed by Dylan Avery. It suggests an alternative explaination to the events surrounding September 11th 2001. It's an hour long, and definately worth your time. Comments are, of course, very welcome. 44. Where's The Carsonator? http://feeds.feedburner.com/~r... download (, 0.00Mb) Description: Lots going on at the Carsonator homefront! We gave a party to show off all the hard work mom has done to the house, got the boys registered and in school, and (of course) keeping the boss happy. As a result, I have been neglecting my podcasting duties for the last several days. But, for those clamering for another episode; be careful what you ask for... You shall have one soon enough. (In the tone of Governor Tarkin) In the meantime, I'll give everybody a sneak peak at some of my efforts to spruce up the Carsonator website. Plus, when you shop yourself on music row, you have to show these people what you look like.... Go find the Carsonator at mrphotostudios.com (Yes, you have to look for me) and let me know what you think. As always, post a comment or email me. |
