2. Dopecast212
http://dopecast.libsyn.com/ind... download (audio/mpeg, 53.71Mb)

Description:

On this week's episode of the Web's Favourite Cannabis Podcast, the Dopefiend kicks off by talking about how his first tolerance break in over a decade of daily cannabis use is going, ten days in, with a step-by-step description of how starving his body of it's habitual herbal supplement is affecting his daily life, and how the DopeTribe have been overwhelmingly supportive in their response to this extraordinary experiment, including a suggestion from forum member Cereus that we make an annual tradition of a pre-Dopestock weed fast. Turning to the emails, the Dopefiend talks about how the subject of cannabis use being a way of avoiding repressed psychological issues relates to Aldous Huxley's concept of "mind filters", and how cannabis use can resurrect problems previously tackled. Continuing the discussion of mind filters and conditioning, and whether daily cannabis use keeps your sense of self in a state of arrested development, hindering the dissolution of such filters, the Dopefiend goes wireless and also raises the subject of DopeTribe urchin Son of Gonzo, who's financial dire straits have prompted the rest of the DopeTribe to rally around him and raise funds to enable him to come out to April 20th's DopeStock festivities in Amsterdam, so that he can grace us with his music, charm, and tea-and-coffee gopher services. After a musical interlude from Gonzo himself, the Dopefiend returns to the emails and talk of how some problems may seem insoluble, cannabis as an anti-depressant and also as a hindrance to meaningful social interaction, and how the to-and-fro between altered states and sobriety is perhaps the most effective way to maintain a balanced outlook on life. After a mention for the forthcoming South Australian elections, Christine returns with another report from Portland, Oregon's NORML Cannabis Café, then, in the Cannabis News, the 54 year-old man sentenced to 35 years in prison for possession of less than five ounces of weed, New Hampshire once again considers decriminalization, the cops get their revenge on narc-turned-activist Barry Cooper, Robbie Williams sings the praises of our secret sacrament, much to Debra Bell's disgust, and Forest Whitaker pledges not to ignore Louis Armstrong's cannabis habit in his forthcoming Satchmo biopic. Email mail@dopefiend.co.uk, send us a voicemail, and check out the forum.

http://dopecast.libsyn.com/ind... download (audio/mpeg, 51.81Mb)

Description:

On this week's episode of the Dopecast, the Web's Favourite Cannabis Commentator, the Dopefiend, talks about the recent report by the UN's International Narcotics Control Board, which criticizes Canada's medical marijuana programme for being too open to abuse, and also warns against the rising tide of legalization in South America. In the emails this week, a wave of comment on the subject raised last week of whether those who use cannabis recreationally on a daily basis are unknowingly doing so in order to treat an undiagnosed psychological issue, and whether such use actually hinders the resolution of such issues. After talk of whether cannabis helps you get in touch with repressed emotion, and even some input from Sonny Bono, the DOpefiend heads into the VaporLounge, the Dopefiend talks about how he has structured his life to enable him to easily access our secret sacrament, and how twelve years of daily cannabis use has done him no harm, why cannabis is the most popular recreational drug on the planet, and how his first tolerance break in twelve years is going! Following a musical interlude in support of a good cause, the Dopefiend returns to the emails and talk of how the Dopecast itself may be aiding and abetting stoners in their avoidance of problems, before Christine reports from Portland, Oregon's NORML Cannabis Café and chats to its founder Madeline Martinez. In this week's Cannabis News: federal prosecutors refuse to return a Colorado medical user's legally grown plants, entirely disregarding the advice from the Department of Justice, L.A.'s HempCon closes around news of an alleged assault on the event's organizer by one of the exhibitors, High Times launches its new Medical Marijuana title, a West Coast office, and a Medical Cannabis Cup, a fifth grader doles out tasty cannabis treats to her classmates, and Mexican ganja smugglers take to the sewers in a bid to circumvent Border Patrol! Email mail@dopefiend.co.uk, send us a voicemail, and check out the forum.

9. Dopecast210
http://dopecast.libsyn.com/ind... download (audio/mpeg, 49.33Mb)

Description:

On the Web's Favourite Cannabis Podcast this week. the Dopefiend talks about how the retirement set are registering their disapproval that the same safe herb they discovered in the 1960s is still illegal today, and looks into how much blame can be attached to successive generations of one-time stoners who have given up the fight as they have aged. Having launched a new discussion about whether habitual cannabis users are treating symptoms of long-term underlying psychological difficulties, the Dopefiend turns to the emails and talk of how much of the cannabis community doesn't inform itself of the truth when it comes to cannabis, and the battle raging between information and disinformation in the legalization debate, and how reaching out and helping each other makes everything seem better! Heading into the VaporLounge to sample some Purple Kush vapour, the Dopefiend talks about last week's glass bead experiment with the iolite, and a report of a bad reaction to mephedrone, before taking an unusual musical interlude from Look1. Next, the Dopefiend talks about this year's Dopestock celebrations in Amsterdam, and we hear from HudsonRulez about his past year, and the sad news of Toronto's Kindred Cafe closing, and in the Cannabis News: Gil Kerlikowske's propaganda has no effect on Iowa's bid for legal medical marijuana, an Irish widow challenges the coronor's claim that cannabis caused her husband's heart attack, Cannabis Planet comes to San Francisco TV screens, LA goes after Medical Dispensaries while Tom Ammiano reintroduces his legalization bill, Quentin Tarantino reassures film fans about his cannabis use, Cheech and Chong return to the big screen, and the Sheboygan man who celebrated the end of his probation by toking up... and got caught! 11. Mangled Meditations 01
http://dopecast.libsyn.com/ind... download (audio/mpeg, 35.80Mb)

Description:

Mangled Meditations a new show that falls under the classification of... uh... I guess 'weird' would be a good adjective. I have been experimenting with music and soundscapes for as long as I can recall. I formed a solo project back in 1993 and called my work Musical Palsey. I quickly recorded 4 albums and sold a few at a local record shop. Mangled Meditations is the radio show I have always wanted to do and had even made one episode back in 1994. Once I got married, the project drifted from me and aside from the occasional experimenting, it sat silently until December of 2009 when I breathed life back into Musical Palsey for the Dopetribe Community. Mangled Meditations is intended as a monthly journey for ears and the mind.
The first episode is actually the third one ever made, but the best one to start with. In it, you will hear the sublime meet the surreal, happiness follows anger, Ok soda saves the day at one point, and Cheech and Chong meditate with you during the course of the dream. Take a hit of something, or several and ponder what the hell is going on as you hear Musical Palsey's first 39 minute podcast: Mangled Meditations.

Description:

On this week's episode of the Web's Favourite Cannabis Podcast, the Dopefiend talks about the recent DEA raids in Colorado and how they're further evidence of the way state law, Department of Justice advice, and public opinion is being systematically ignored by those intent on keeping the War on Drugs rumbling on. In this week's emails, there's talk of how eating mangoes can effect the strength of your high, growing philosopher's stone truffles, some extraordinary strain reports from grower Adam, and lots and lots of love for the mighty iolite portable vaporizer. Strolling into the VaporLounge, the Dopefiend conducts an experiment at the behest of the iolite's creators, to determine whether glass beads in the herb chamber can increase vapour quality, before taking a musical interlude courtesy of Ghost13. Back to the emails, and subjects such as the importance of mindfulness, how not all cops are evil, a glowing testimonial of the Leidseplein Coffeeshop in Leiden, Holland from Hippy Man, some insight into cannabis use and pregnancy, and the scourge of adulterated weed hits Australia. Next, the Dopefiend talks briefly to -Me-, the host of the brand new Mangled Meditations podcast which launches this Saturday on Dopefiend.co.uk, before turning to the Cannabis News, and the story of how Tacoma Washington's growers are running scared, the grower busted with a mobile grow-op flourishing in his van, and the worrying allegations that the Federal Government are pressurizing eBay to remove High Times magazine from sale on their site. Email mail@dopefiend.co.uk, send us a voicemail, and check out the forum.

Description:

In this week's episode of Visionary Artists Podcast we talk to the writer and podcaster Lorenzo Hagerty. The coversation penetrates the noosphere, floats over the nature of story telling and lands in the Black Rock Desert as we discuss Burning Man and the nature of artistic expression. We discover the reason for Visionary Artist Podcast's long absence and launch right back into the swing of things with a dicussion of the balance of masulinity and feminity in the visionary experience and in artistic creation. The discussion moves onto reclaiming the feminine without losing the masculine, balancing light and dark, and briefly touches on everyone's favourite tragic hero, Hamlet. We also discuss what's coming up in the next few episodes, including a talk to be given by the host in Canterbury University this Friday and an interview with artist Sandeep Chandran in VAP004.

Heading into the VaporLounge, the Dopefiend sings the praises of the Capital City of Cannabis and talks about the forthcoming fourth Dopestock gathering this April and why all self-respecting DopeTribers should make every effort to be there and share the fun. After a taste of some Master Kush and a Chicago-based musical interlude, the Dopefiend returns to the emails and talk of cannabis in the Middle East, breaking the stoner stereotypes, the lineage of Green Crack and whether strain names serve any purpose, and we also hear from Kentucky-based DopeTriber Crackajacka. Description: On the first Dopecast of a new decade, the Dopefiend kicks off another year of the Web's Favourite Cannabis Podcast by introducing the DopeTribe to the new head of the UK's Advisory Council on the Misuse of Drugs, Les Iverson, a man who sees cannabis as one of the "safer" recreational drugs. Turning to the emails, the Dopefiend covers such subjects as the cannabis scene in Hong Kong, vaporizing hash, the developing fight for decriminalization in the United States, how portable vaporizers can allow use of cannabis in full view of family without their knowledge, and several cases of mistaken Dopefiend identity! Moving into the VaporLounge, the Dopefiend packs his iolite portable vaporizer with some Original UK Cheese and chats about what he got up to over the Christmas and New Year break, "coming out" as a Cannabis user to friends and family, and the success of this year's series of DopeTribe Dispatches programmes. Following an ambient musical interlude from Pojut, the Dopefiend talks about the VaporGenie vaporizer, with help from LaToker88, who descibes the VaporGenie and compares it with his new iolite vaporizer. Next, the Dopefiend talks about taking tolerance breaks from cannabis, auto-flowering strains, and how cannabis can actually make you more productive! In this week's Cannabis News, a new study claims that teen marijuana use affects the brain permanently... so long as you're a rat, a sexual misconduct scandal rocks the Marijuana Policy Project, the Czech Republic legalizes posession of all drugs, California's journey to legalized Cannabis continues, and New Jersey looks set to approve medical marijuana. Description: On the final episode of this year's run of excellent DopeTribe Dispatches put together by the listeners to the Dopefiend.co.uk Podcast Network, Smoke Jaguar and Anna kick things off by telling us about their research into high-grade "skunk" cannabis and how it compares to old school bushweed in terms of user preference and social and cultural trends. Next, King Lou presents his favourite weed-related segments from his podcast, which features Lou himself reading posts from assorted web forums. Then DopeTriber Chester Cheeba returns to introduce a crazy acid and mushroom-tea-infused story from his buddy Pepe. Finally, following a special introduction from the Dopefiend himself, favourites from last year's Dopetribe Dispatches, Snakey and Jamin head off on another one of their annual mushroom hunts in the hills of Northern England, but get far more than they bargained for thanks to the sticky-fingered locals, then they take the DopeTribe through their procedure for making mushroom tea. Don't miss the first Dopecast of the new decade next Monday only on Dopefiend.co.uk!

Description:

BB's Bungalow - Episode 28
Christmas Downunder at the Bungalow

Happy Holidays and Seasons Greetings to everyone out there and tune in to this month's Bungalow to chill out amongst all the madness of the silly season.

This show weâll be hearing lots of special Christmas messages from members of The Dopefiend network and The Grow Report members.  We'll also be listening to some unique holiday music, comedy and clips about Christmas and mushrooms and lots of other interesting facts which many may not even know about Christmas!

If you would like to send in your comments or be involved in a future show then drop me a line to blackbeauty@dopefi end.co.uk; find me on Skype at BlackBeauty1977; and on Twitter at BlackBeauty.

We love receiving your emails, reviews, trip reports, voicemails, comedy and music tracks that you would like to hear on the Bungalow.

Youâve also probably noticed more of a shroomy focus in recent episodes and in fact, I would love to have more shroomy goodness on the Bungalow in 2010 so to do that, Iâll need you to send in your trip reports.  No matter how long ago they happened youâd be surprised how something you described from a past trip could help someone in the future.  Or perhaps you have yet to try psychedelics and have some questions about a future trip.  So if you have some trip stories to share with others, then write in and let us know at blackbeauty@dopefi end.co.uk or send me a Private Message on The Grow Report forums.

39. DopecastChristmas2009
http://dopecast.libsyn.com/ind... download (audio/mpeg, 94.36Mb)

Description: This Christmas Morning, the Dopefiend returns to send his Christmas message to the Stoner Nation, with the help of Entheo-pundit Max Freakout, Visionary Artists Podcaster, author and DopeTriber Alexander Beiner aka Ostritt, and santa's elves Squidgy Sid and G13. Settling down in the Dope Den for an early morning session, the Dopefiend starts by unveiling his current stash which features many superstars of the Cannabis world, then selecting the twelve strains of Christmas which are going to bring joy to the DopeTribe on this festive day. Turning to Squidgy Sid while filling a bag of Arjan's Haze, the Dopefiend talks about the momentous past year and the many DopeTribe highlights of the last twelve months, with honourable mentions for the Big Chill, now under threat from the corporate stewardship of Festival Republic, Ostritt's first visit to Burning Man, and how Nitrous Oxide enhanced both expeditions. Refilling the trusty Volcano Digit with some Jack Herer for the next round, the DopeTribers talk about the best ways to vape or smoke hash, and whether the iolite might be too much of a good thing for many stoners, the loss of memory associated with heavy cannabis use, and what is the optimum temperature for vaporization. Throwing a Northern Lights/New York City Diesel cross into the mix, and almost interrupted by the threat of one of Sid's notorious whiteys, the Dopefiend turns to Alexander Beiner to talk about his 2009, the success of the brand new Visionary Artists Podcast, and what constitutes Visionary Art, with some talk about James Cameron's new psychedelic masterpiece Avatar. The conversation then turns to the subject of "coming out" as a user of mind-altering substances and how it affects working life, and whether the balance of power will ever shift in favour of the freaks, with Max Freakout joining in to give his perspective from higher education, and Squidgy Sid also commenting. Following a wild interruption from G13, and a fresh bag of Grapefruit, the DopeTribe are beginning to show considerable confusion about the range of strains on display, and the Dopefiend turns to a rousing musical interlude for calming purposes. Suitably calmed, the Dopefiend fires up the iolite portable vaporizer with some Nebula while the Volcano takes on New York City Diesel, and the gathered DopeTribers talk about mushrooms and LSD and the best way to store both, before moving on to more philosophical climes with a conversation about whether consciousness exists beyond death while sampling some KC Haze Special in the Volcano, and testing out the iolite's new hash-oriented ultra-fine gauze herb chamber with some Juicy Fruit bubblehash. Piling on some G13 x Sweet Haze, the tribe discuss differing attitudes to cannabis use in different countries around the globe, and the various run-ins with law enforcement experienced by those in attendance. Next on the menu, Homegrown Fantasy Cheese almost annihilates G13, then Bubblegum and Master Kush complete the twleve strains of Christmas as the stoners talk about their plans for Christmas Day and Max Freakout's new grow operation. Email mail@dopefiend.co.uk, send us a voicemail, and check out the forum.

Description: In this week's episode of the Web's Favourite Cannabis Podcast, the Dopefiend talks about how the scientific community is still responding to the sacking of Professor David Nutt from the Advisory Council on the Misuse of Drugs, whether cannabis can really cure alcoholism, and whether there is anything to fear in the findings of a new study on cannabis use and psychosis, and why confusion about what "skunk" is fuels further misinformation. Turning to this week's email, the Dopefiend talks about driving stoned and the VaporGenie vaporizer, before heading into the VaporLounge to talk about how a vaporizer is the gift that keeps on giving for any stoner this Christmas, then he fires up his own Volcano so he can taste an incredible Northern Lights/New York City Diesel cross before reporting this year's Cannabis Cup winners. Next, Dopegirl draws the winner of this week's competition to win an iolite portable vaporizer, and the Dopefiend gives the DopeTribe another two chances to win their own iolite too, with a reminder to get your entries in for this year's DopeTribe Dispatches before a rocking musical interlude sent in by ArcticVapors. After SGawain235 gives some in-depth directions for taking Salvia Divinorum sublingually as an alternative to smoking it, the Dopefiend turns to the Cannabis News, with an update on the row surrounding the recovery of Jack Herer, the Scottish plan to punish cannabis use with on-the-spot fines, Amsterdam clamps down on cannabis growing gangs, the last of the operators of Lancing's cannabis cafe are found guilty of conspiracy to supply, a new Detroit school offers courses in all aspects of cannabis, Alanis Morissette uses cannabis to get her creative juices flowing, and Marilyn Monroe's Mary Jane movie! Email mail@dopefiend.co.uk, leave us a skype voicemail, and check out the forum.

http://dopecast.libsyn.com/ind... download (audio/mpeg, 47.78Mb)

Description: On the two-hundred-and-first episode of the Web's Favourite Cannabis Podcast, the Dopefiend talks about the ongoing struggle between the American medical marijuana movement and the federal drug laws, and how the latest hurdle, that of the legality of selling medical cannabis, has been tackled in Los Angeles, and how they're now facing a cap on the number of dispensaries in LA. Following a call to the DopeTribe for submissions for this year's DopeTribe Dispatches, the Dopefiend turns to the emails which kick off with positive vibes following our incredible 200th episode from DopeTribers vince noir rocknroll star, who celebrates our thriving community; James, who sees the Dopecast as his "smoking buddy"; Psychedelic Podfather Lorenzo, who draws attention to the success of the whole network and an archive of over 500 shows; and Clark, who's used information from the Dopefiend network and the support of the DopeTribe at the forum to set up his own grow, as well as to make the switch to vaporizing. Next up, Caroline raises the question of the safety of using cannabis during pregnancy, and whether vaping eliminates the risk, leading the Dopefiend to take a comprehensive look at the research on cannabis use in pregnancy. Heading into the VaporLounge, the Dopefiend takes a look at the VapBong vaporizer, one of the low-cost lighter-powered vaporizer options available to cash-strapped Vapefiends which was sent to the Dopefiend thanks to DopeTriber lee roy 2.0, then, having tasted some Master Kush in the VapBong, the Dopefiend advertises a 420-friendly room in Texas and goes on to draw the winning entry in last week's incredible competition to win a brand-new iolite portable vaporizer and also tells the DopeTribe how they can be a Dopecast winner too! After a musical interlude from Stoney McStonerson, the Dopefiend talks about how medical cannabis legalization is even creeping into traditionally prohibitionist strongholds like Iowa, mentions a new study into cannabis use, bipolar disorder and schizophrenia, and in the Cannabis News this week: the parents of an autistic 10 year-old report success with medical cannabis, Professor David Nutt recommends a Royal Commission into legalizing cannabis, while another academic warns of the dangers of cannabis-induced psychosis, the former US Attorney who indicted Marc Emery changes his tune, just as Marc himself is released on bail, Oregon's new cannabis cafe causes media confusion, and the L.A. grow factory busted just 25 feet from the nearest police station. 55. Dopecast200: LIVE from the UK Hemp Expo
http://dopecast.libsyn.com/ind... download (audio/mpeg, 85.46Mb)

Description: On the 200th episode of the Web's Favourite Cannabis Podcast, LIVE from the UK Hemp Expo at the Old Truman Brewery in the East End of London, the Dopefiend is joined by a huge array of DopeTribers and stoner-celebrities for a fourth anniversary extravaganza! First off, the Dopefiend talks to MartialAnt about the source of his personal supply of Bubblegum which immediately gets passed around in a fired-up iolite vaporizer, then turns to Soft Secrets' DannyGreenFingers about his love of auto-flowering strains and why they can do better than their reputation suggests, and certainly better than your average street weed, and how he's found considerable success with LED units in his grow operation. Next up, with another iolite freshly packed with some Original UK Cheese, the Dopefiend talks to the sponsor of the 200th episode, Coffeeshop supremo Pothead about his year at the Dopefiend.co.uk Podcast Network and is just seeking his views on the sacking of top UK government drug adviser Professor David Nutt as Dopecast favourite Druidude rocks up to throw his two cents into the debate, touching on the original intention of the Misuse of Drugs Act, how the row has hurt the government, and how Britain's legal situation compares with a more favourable cannabis climate in the United States, and whether we'll ever see legalization in the UK. After a message from DopeTriber VictoriaPandora, the Dopefiend talks to British breeder and seedseller Big Buddha about his life as a breeder, the growth of the UK breeding scene thanks to the ubiquitous Cheese strain, then following messages from Grow Report Forum Vapor-Mod HudsonRulez, and DopeTribers Nexus and Co-Host, the Dopefiend talks to new Dopetribers Nathan and Geeza about the UK Hemp Expo, their own grow operation which is yielding some tasty fruits. After some words from regular Dopecast contributor Christine, the Dopefiend talks to Max Freakout about his hankering to return to growing bud, and about his views on the sacking of David Nutt, then we hear from Dopecast regular Esse B, before the Dopefiend heads over to the iolite stall for a chat with iolite head honcho CiarÃn about the success of the incredible iolite portable vaporizer, the copycat market that's sprung up around it, the future for the iolite itself, and an incredible chance to win one of four iolites in the colour of your choice in a new Dopecast competition. After another chance to hear the Soundscape Gardener's incredible Dopecast anthem Hats Off To The Dopefiend, the Dopefiend returns to chat with another musical hero as ScoobySnakks from Dopecast favourite band Hey Negrita joins the party to chat about the new technology on offer at the expo, and the band's latest movements, then following some words from DopeTribe mainstay Son of Gonzo, the Dopefiend catches up with stoner luminary John Sinclair, for a chat about the legal status of medical cannabis in the United States, especially John's home state of Michigan and why governments are so keen to push alcohol while prohibiting mind-expanding substances, before John gives an impromptu performance of his classic "It's All Good". Following a message from DopeStock regular UpYer, the Dopefiend heads over to the MiniVap store to take an in-depth look at this new high-end (and extremely high-priced!) portable vaporizer with the help of Dr. Chronic and Max Freakout, after which we hear from BrownIrish, and the Seedsman stops by to update the DopeTribe on the seed scene in the UK, the popularity of the auto-flower strains, and the possibilities of legalization in the UK. Finally on this 200th episode mega-session, after a message from Ronan, the Dopefiend heads into a corner with Wegface, Farmux, Herodian and many more for a Volcano session involving some British-grown Jack Herer and some powerful Kent-grown Original UK Cheese while talking about the scourge of adulterated weed, the growth of the UK growing scene, how the iolite's grown on the DopeTribe over its first year of availability and how too much toking brought on a Cannabinoid Hyperemesis attack for Esse B. Email mail@dopefiend.co.uk, send us a voicemail and drop by our Skype Virtual VaporLounge, and check out the forum.

56. Dopecast199
http://dopecast.libsyn.com/ind... download (audio/mpeg, 51.08Mb)

Description: On this week's episode of the Web's Favourite Cannabis Podcast, the Dopefiend covers the news of three more resignations from Britain's Advisory Council on the Misuse of Drugs following the sacking of Professor David Nutt as its chair for telling the truth about the level of harm caused to society by drug use, and how the government is failing dismally in its attempts to smother the story. Turning to the emails, the Dopefiend talks about whether non-stoners can recognize the smell of cannabis vapour, whether eating hash oil raw yields results, and whether the same is true for the oily residue left on a vaporizer, how legalizing cannabis could mean the end of powerful drug cartels, what causes red-eye and how to avoid it, or at least excuse it, whether mouse-infested ganja is safe to cook with, the intensity and perilousness of the Salvia Divinorum experience, and answers some vaporizer questions. Heading into the VaporLounge, the Dopefiend talks about last week's Audience with David Nutt event while sampling some Lemon Skunk vapour and listening to music from Kill Me Now Kiss Me Later, before returning to the emails and talk of baking with vapo-poop, the Vapor Bros vaporizer, whether medical cannabis should be a non-profit industry, which strain looks best while growing, and whether the Dopefiend finds it hard to bring out a new Dopecast every week. In this week's Cannabis News, this year's report from the European Monitoring Centre for Drugs and Drug Addiction warns of the thriving online drug market and also notes the declining popularity of cannabis in the Netherlands, where it's legally available, the American Medical Association votes in support of legal medical marijuana, Jack Herer continues to recover, while a feud between his friends and family gathers pace, and San Fransisco Giants pitcher Tim Lincecum gets busted only 2 milligrams into a fresh bag of bud. http://dopecast.libsyn.com/ind... download (audio/mpeg, 47.30Mb)

Description: On this week's episode of the Web's Favourite Cannabis Podcast, the Dopefiend looks at the fallout from last week's sacking of British government drugs adviser Professor David Nutt, the politicians scientists and other public figures who have lent their support to Nutt, and those that haven't, and the wide-ranging implications of what has become a major issue among the scientific community. Turning to the emails, the Dopefiend talks about the fight for interference-free medical marijuana in California, the cancer-curing properties of hemp oil, why most coffeeshop customers in the Netherlands are male, and the joys of what Dopetriber Chris calls "toke and explore, discussion of which prompts the Dopefiend to ponder why he hasnât had a chance to indulge in it recently, as he heads into the VaporlOunge to talk about David Sedaris, Jon Ronson and This American Life, and to taste a bit of 007 while listening to some homegrown music from Dopetriber Johno Leader. Back to the emails, and the Dopefiend looks at the similarities between near-death experiences and drug experiences, Dr. Barton reviews medical textbook "Cannabis Therapeutics in HIV/AIDS", leading the Dopefiend to recommend "Dying To Get High", Gaijin Abysm asks about the possibilities of Salvia Divinorum vaporization, and Oby San expresses despair at the painful pace of progress in the fight for legalization, and how to remain informed without becoming obsessed or depressed by the constant flow of bad news. In the Cannabis News, the Netherlands' biggest ever coffeeshop goes on trial in a test case which could change the legal status of cannabis in Holland for good, British cannabis seizures double in a year, Toronto growers eschew hydroponics for outdoor guerrilla grow-ops, Law Enforcement Against Prohibition fight for the right to discuss cannabis legalization in the face of a new censorship amendment, and "we were high during Easy Rider": Peter Fonda fesses up! Description:

On this week's episode of the Web's Favourite Cannabis Podcast, the Dopefiend responds to the extraordinary events of the past week, in which the British Government's chief scientific advisor was fired for suggesting that drug law in the UK doesn't reflect the level of harm caused to society by drug use. Turning to this week's emails, the Dopefiend talks about the most efficient ways to use your vaporizer, casts his expert eyes over a couple of newcomers on the vaporizer market, the safety of plastic bongs, the recent pro-pot protests in New Hampshire and their senate's rejection of a medical marijuana law. Heading into the VaporLounge, the Dopefiend takes a second look at the super-portable, super-fast Magic Flight Launch Box vaporizer, weighing up its advantages and disadvantages, comparing it with the iolite, and using it to take a speedy hit of Sage N Sour, before returning to the subject of internet security when visiting weed-related websites, and taking a musical break provided by listener J. Returning to the emails, the Dopefiend talks Amsterdam and vapo-poop bakery, before this week's Cannabis News, including an overview of the medical marijuana scene in Alasks, and why the recent Justice Department advice on compassion clubs won't affect them much, stoner snowboarder Ross Rebagliati makes the move into politics, the California Committee on Public Safety looks into decriminalization, and 2 and a half tablespoons of bongwater could land you in jail for over seven years! Description: In this fortnight's installment of Psychonautica, Max Freakout first talks about the recent health scare over a toxic batch of 2cb, and talks about the natural/synthetic distinction. Next Max plays the 6th part of the Stanislav Grof seminar 'psychospiritual death and rebirth: a visionary journey'. Grof talks about the swamps of the unconscious mind, the moment of birth and the child-king archetype, the mythic theme of being swallowed and then spat out, Joseph Campbell's formulation of the hero's journey and the universality of this story in world mythology, the feeling of being dead, losing inhibitions at yearly festivals like Mardi Gras, Campbell's take on Dante's Divine Comedy as a timeless map of the death/rebirth experience, walking on fire, the onset of nuclear war, the genie in the lamp, the bombing of Hiroshima, Grof's own ego death experience at the hands of Shiva, classic shamanic themes such as being torn apart during ego death,  merging with the divine light, peacock feathers as reminiscent of psychedelic visions, giving birth to a new self, birth by caesarian section, creationism, evolutionism and the debate over intelligent design and the biblical account of the history of the universe. Afterwards Max reads out an email from Pandora about ego death and coming to terms with the psychedelic experience. Description:

On this week's episode of the Web's Favourite Cannabis Podcast, the Dopefiend talks about the United Stated Department of Justice advice to federal agencies not to arrest or pursue those who follow state law when using or providing medical marijuana and why it's still up to the feds to decide how they want to implement the law. Turning to the emails, the Dopefiend talks about DopeStock 2010, when to come to Amsterdam and where to stay, theres some debate over whether bongs are really more harmful than joints or pipes as methods of smoking cannabis, and spacehamsta challenges the validity of a study into whether stoned mice can swim to a floating platform. Heading into the VaporLounge to sample some Kahuna, the Dopefiend talks about whether vaporizing reduces red-eye, and reads an email from hey Negrita's Scoobysnakks updating the DopeTribe on the bands movements, and giving us a sneak preview of a new zombie-themed short film starring the band and their music, before they also provide this week's musical interlude. Back to the emails, and the Dopefiend covers subjects such as tips and tricks for using the iolite and Volcano vaporizers, Pojut's tips for how to make your money and your weed last longer, Zophar's easy recibe for vapo-poop brownies, and A story of corporate oppression from Joe. Description: On this week's episode of the Web's Favourite Cannabis Podcast, the Dopefiend talks about the creeping bans on ancient hallucinogenic herb Salvia Divinorum and how they're putting cutting edge research into cures for cocaine addiction and Alzheimer's disease at risk, looking into it's meteroic rise as a popular legal high, and whether there is any actual danger associated with its use. Hitting the emails, we hear the story of a near-miss police encounter, a review of the coffeeshop scene in Nijmegen in Holland and some talk of the long-term safety of MDMA or ecstasy, before hitting the iolite and giving a second taste to the G-Bomb recently sampled by the DopeTribe at the DopeCave. After talking further on the subject of internet security and hearing a musical interlude from DopeTriber Ikaro, the Dopefiend returns to the emails, and subjects including the ture nature of the relationship between cannabis use and insomnia and experiences of synesthesia when using cannabis. In this week's Cannabis News: Western Australia introduces some of the toughest cannabis laws down under, police in California are ordered to return 32 ounces of hash to their rightful owners, Scottish postmen are recruited by police to hunt down cannabis factories, a homegrower is busted following a tip-off from her own daughter, New Mexico considers applications from prospective medical marijuana providers to join the USA's only state-licensed grower, Pennsylvania students are warned to look out for poisonous jimson weed-laced cannabis, and Wisconsin edges closer to becoming the fourteenth state to legalize medical marijuana. 73. Dopecast194
http://dopecast.libsyn.com/ind... download (audio/mpeg, 52.72Mb)

Description: On this week's episode of the Web's Favourite Cannabis Podcast, the Dopefiend talks about the recent British report chronicling the rise in popularity of cocaine among the young, how it's eclipsing crack and heroin, and why the global war on drugs has contributed to this situation by keeping cannabis in its sights. Next, the Dopefiend calls for recent donors to claim their free gifts, mentions the coming UK Hemp Expo, and covers such subjects as the Swedish law on cannabis, how to protect your privacy online, the "feminine energy" of cannabis, we hear a Salvia trip report from Mike K, leading to some talk of alternate dimensions in psychedelia. Heading into the VaporLounge, the Dopefiend fires up the Volcano and blasts some Green Spirit while talking about the benefits of joining the vapor revolution, and the incredible stealthiness of the iolite portable vaporizer, before taking a musical break from Dopetriber Chasing For Courtship. Back to the emails, the Dopefiend talks about cannabis psychosis, how to "dial down" the powerful effects of a good vaporizer, the power of the DopeTribe, the ease of subscribing to the Dopecast, adulterated cannabis and whether it's still a big issue for UK stoners and whether the increasing amount of high-THC bud is due to early harvesting. In this week's Cannabis News: the political and legal wrangling putting California's compassion clubs at risk, ASA win cannabis growing collectives the right to sue if law enforcement interferes with their activities, Colorado calls the National Guard and their Black Hawk helicopters in to help crack down on guerilla growers, a UK grower and dealer is spared jail, showing the quiet lenience of the UK justice system regarding cannabis, Jack Herer continues to recover following his Hempstalk collapse, and Bluntman and Chronic creator Kevin Smith credits our secret sacrament with his return to Hollywood. Description:

Pothead continues the monthly series with your chance to put your own stamp on the Dopefiend.co.uk Podcast Network.

On this monthâs show we start with nexus112, âA now defunct podcast rises from the ashes and flies for one last time under the kind auspices of Potheadâs Coffeeshop. Enjoy listening as the men with many pseudonyms talk. Float 23 (Dr Love) answers Nexus112âs (pdm) questions on shamanism and shamanic practice. In this âremote interviewâ we hear Floatâs recorded answers to 10 questions on the subject while Nexus provides commentary and a modest mix of music. The discussion covers topics such as: getting started with shamanism, dealing with entities, the role of entheogens, how the western mind copes with these ideas, sex, drugs and rock and roll. The show finishes with a beautiful poem from Float titled- Brother Fox.â Then we join Mad Dog for a Halloween Special, Mad Dog helps us get in the mood ready for Halloween with a section of spooky Halloween tracks wahahahaââ..

Nexus112âs questions:
1 What initially interested you in shamanism?

2 What made you take that interest into actual practice?

3 describe how you began using these techniques and what they were. Ie, where you started.

4 did or have you ever encountered malevolent entities, how did you deal with them?

5 What do you see as the role of entheogens in shamanism? Not historical use but in modern practice.

6 assuming this is right, how do the techniques and experiences differ off and on entheogens?

7 where would one start in crossing over from reading and learning about shamanism to actually doing it?

8 what advice would you give a novice?

9 shamanism is about journeying and bringing back information. Can you give us an example of you or someone doing this in the modern world?

10 anything else you'd like to say to the folks at home?

76. Dopecast193
http://dopecast.libsyn.com/ind... download (audio/mpeg, 52.41Mb)

Description: On this week's special episode of the Dopecast live from the DopeCave on the banks of the River Thames in central London, the Dopefiend is joined by entheopundit Max Freakout and DopeTribers Herodian, Esse B, G13 and Acid Tramp for a full-on stoner symposium during which the Dopefiend discusses his recent return to the LSD dimension with Acid Tramp before G13 tells the story of his recent encounter with the police which somewhat elucidates the confusing new "3 strikes" policy in the UK for cannabis posession, leading to a group discussion on the state of cannabis law in Britain and how the government have bamboozled both the police and the public. Next, the Dopefiend turns to Esse B who gives an update on his battle with the rare condition Cannabinoid Hyperemesis, then the Dopefiend reads an email from Dr Barton outlining his theories on the possible causes of the condition. Next, Herodian packs one of the iolites flying around the cave with some LowRyder for a tasting session and a chat about the recent developments in auto-flowering plants and whether they're the answer for lazy growers or those with no space and no expertise, or whether growers are better off tailoring gourmet strains to suit their environment. During a chat about whether the blotter recently experienced on the Dopecast by the Dopefiend and Son of Gonzo, Herodian explains why he has no interest in psychedelics, and G13 and Esse B give their thoughts on LSD. Then, while tasting the G-Bomb strain which was previously dubbed "Kush n Chips" for it's unusual flavour, the DopeTribers are momentarily distracted by an underwear photo shoot in the vicinity of the DopeCave, prompting the Dopefiend to speedily announce a musical interlude from Timdonesia and his band Friends of Dennis Wilson. Back in the DopeCave, the Dopefiend chats with G13 and Herodian about their views of the LowRyder and the G-Bomb, then the DopeTribe discuss last week's initiation of Marc Emery's extradition process and the injustice of Canada bowing to the demands of the USA and selling out their citizen, leading to a discussion of the hypocrisy of America's war on drugs. Finally, the Dopefiend seeks the opinion of the DopeTribe on the news that Festival Republic have bought out the Big Chill and what it will mean for festival goers, before packing up the iolites and heading up to higher ground. Email mail@dopefiend.co.uk, send us a voicemail and drop by our Skype Virtual VaporLounge, and check out the forum.

Description: In this week's installment of Psychonautica, Max Freakout plays the fourth part of a day-long seminar by Stanislav Grof, from the world psychedelic forum, entitled 'psychospiritual death and rebirth, a visionary journey'. Grof talks about verifiably authentic experiences of identifying with animals during LSD trips, the importance of accelerating through psychotic experiences instead of administering tranquilisers to suppress them, telepathic experiences in trip sessions, reliving toxic-womb and bad-womb experiences, Jung's connection with nazism and his attempts to debunk christianity, Hitler's 'deranged mysticism' and his use of shamanic imagery behind the nazi campaign, Hitler's ecstatic mystical experience on seeing a holy relic, Hitler's past-life regression experience after taking mescaline, the advantages of delivering a child underwater and the unecessary traumatisation caused by modern delivery methods, the artwork of HR Giger and it's depiction of perinatal matrices, the theme of the devouring female in holotropic states and the connection to snakes and spiders, and vagina dentata and the theme of the vaginal torture chamber. Afterwards, Max reads out an email about the connection between BDSM sessions and psychedelic trips. 79. Dopecast192
http://dopecast.libsyn.com/ind... download (audio/mpeg, 47.96Mb)

Description: On the Web's Favourite Cannabis Podcast this week, the Dopefiend talks about how today sees Marc Emery turning himself in to the authorities to begin his extradition to the United States for selling cannabis seeds after a gruelling four-year struggle. Hitting the emails, the Dopefiend talks about the positive feedback following last week's LSD audio, whether you can find good buds in Myrtle Beach, whether there should be a Dopefiend.co.uk iPod app, the rare phenomenon of Dopecast hate mail, whether psychedelics connect us to our feminine energies, how recreational cannabis users are often also unwitting medical users, and we hear a brief cannabis trip report from Mr Rushh. Next, the Dopefiend heads into the VaporLounge to fire up the Volcano vaporizer and sample the powerful indica stone of some Purple Kush while talking about next year's DopeStock, the forthcoming UK Hemp Expo in London, and next year's release of Mr Nice: The Movie before taking a musical interlude courtesy of Tyson. Before returning to the emails, the Dopefiend mentions a couple of old documentaries about London he's recently rediscovered, then talks about why cannabis and psychedelics are more feared by the authorities than alcohol, cocaine and prescription drugs, the anonymity of the DopeTribe and the Dopefiend himself, the line between reality and gaming, and whether playing games on psychedelics is a valuable experience. In this week's Cannabis News: Denmark considers legalizing cannabis in an effort to reduce gang crime, Florida detectives are caught on camera playing Wii bowling during a drug raid, and the Greek guerrilla grower who tried (and failed) to hide in plain sight!
