http://northshoremusicpodcast.... download (audio/mpeg, 11.28Mb)

Description: <br>"....We can never take it all in, but we can remember all inside of us..."

DelHill was formed in the hills of an ancient land during the Winter of 2004.

The story goes that Del and James Rockpoint, founding members and friends for over a decade, sought experience and inspiration elsewhere in the world. Armed with the will and seeking the way, the two travelers wandered wildly into the bosom of New Zealand.

They hitched and hiked through tucked away hamlets and verdant landscapes, playing music every step of the way. They left no publican's house, hostel picnic table, or stranger's living room couch behind. It was here they discovered that no matter what corner of the world someone came from, music was a unifier. Language is sound, and music is a universal language that every rambler speaks. Their music helped forge friendships and connections.

Combining driving rhythms, thoughtful arrangements, and soulful vocals, DelHill continues to explore the endless possibilities of sound and life. With the addition of drummer Daryl Romkey, singer/songwriter/jazzbo Tony Maiella, and bassist Freddy G in Summer 2005, DelHill continue on as five friends making one sound.

2. Hi8us - Fascinated People - NSMPodcast
http://northshoremusicpodcast.... download (audio/mpeg, 9.55Mb)

Description: Hi8us has been spreading its stylish groove from Boston to the Big Apple to the Big Easy and beyond.

Since storming the local Boston scene in January of 2002, the members of hi8us have shared the stage with nationally recognized acts such as The Samples, Steve Kimock Band, Soulive, The Disco Biscuits, Addison Groove Project, Papa Grows Funk, Moon Boot Lover, Sam Kininger, Jennifer Hartswick Band, and The Gordon Stone Trio.

hi8us has made its impact up and down the East Coast playing for its evergrowing number of fans at many established venues including Nectar's (Burlington, VT), The Middle East (Boston, MA), The Lion's Den (New York, NY), Tobacco Road (Miami, FL), The Hard Rock Cafe (Key West, FL), and the nationally renowned Berkshire Mountain Music Festival (Great Barrington, MA). In March 2004, the Blue Island Spring Tour took hi8us along the East Coast from Boston to Florida for a two week long, eight city, affirmation of its drive and dedication to its fans. In April 2005, hi8us went south again for a weekend run during New Orleans JazzFest, adding yet another highlight to the hi8us scrapbook.

hi8us is Michael Rakusin (keyboards/sax/vocals), Colin Ovitsky (bass), Jim Chekos (guitar/vocals) and Max Monaco (drums). Each musician brings with him a different musical background and perspective, thus creating a unique collective style. While its first release gives listeners a taste of the potential the band possesses, the members of hi8us have truly solidified their angle and are focused on recording a full-length album set to release in 2006.

Experiencing hi8us live is unforgettable. The band's lyrics are filled with real life stories and their upbeat and danceable blend is twisted with deep improvisational segments combining funk, rock, pop, Latin, reggae, hip hop and electronica. Bass driven, soulful grooves served up with an unmistakable pop appeal.
