The development of the Klamath Project began in 1903 with the realization that spring flood waters that evaporated over the summer in shallow lakes and ponds could be held in Upper Klamath Lake and used for irrigation of crops. Construction of the project began in 1908. This video outlines the social, political and engineering efforts that went into the project.
