Episode CXVI: Video Games Make Great Stocking Stuffers download (audio/mpeg, 29.69Mb) Description: It's the Christmas season and traditionally that's when video games have their highest sales as parents across the country try to figure out what little Johnny needs or wants for Christmas. Whiel little Johnny probably would groove to some Manhunt 2 action (especially with the unrated edition crack) there are some more kid-friendly options from the Star Wars universe. Even with The Force Unleashed being pushed until next April (yeah, it's April now) there are two new Star Wars games for people of all ages to play. This week Marjorie and Arnie review both Lego Star Wars--The Complete Saga for the Nintendo Wii and Star Wars: Battlefront--Renegade Squadron for the Sony PSP platform. Also this week, new ceramic candy holders and mugs are appearing on store shelves. Marjorie found some at Target. What are they and are they of good quality? Listen to find out!

Throw in the end of the Master Replicas and it was a very crazy year, but as a result many collectors are vowing to change their collecting habits in 2008. Star Wars Action News put out the call for listeners to call in with their collecting resolutions for 2008 and many people called in. We play those resolutions and next year we'll check in with these callers to see how they did. Also this week we look at the ploethera of 3.75" exclusives Target put out over the holiday season. But imagine the crash from the "IT'S HERE!" high if you open a box expecting to finish off your 30th Anniversary Hasbro collection thanks to an order from HasbroToyShop.com and, instead, find a 3 year old Revenge of the Sith figure? Arnie vents about this very occurrance this week on Star Wars Action News. Also this week, we are always looking for listener feedback as to what you'd like more of on the show and what we've heard is "more vintage." This show marks our first in a new monthly segment where our own podcast enhancer Kevin (DarthGawth on the forums) reviews vintage figures as he begins the daunting task of assembling a vintage carded collection. Finally this week, Lucasfilm issued a press release about what has happened to the Master Replicas license. Hasbro will be taking over the production of the Force F/X lightsabers and the other props are falling to a newcomer to Star Wars--EFX. Marjorie and Arnie give their take on this turn of events.

Episode CXXVII: What to buy, what to buy, what to buy? download (audio/mpeg, 34.18Mb) Description: One of the great joys of collecting items like Hasbro and Gentle Giant and Sideshow is that it truly seems never-ending. No sooner do you think you finish with one line then another pops up. Such is certainly the case right now with Hasbro figures; as most people are starting to put their 2007 collections to bed, reports are coming in about the first wave of 2008 figures being spotted at Wal Marts, including by our own customizing expert Darth Kozy. Kozy sat down and tore open his Wave 8 finds and recorded his thoughts on these newest of figures. Arnie and Marjorie got samplings of the concurrent lines of figures including animated style Clone Wars figures and the realistic style of The Legacy Collection. Many vehicles, mutlipacks, and other products await us. If 2007 was the year of the ewoke, 2008 is Year of the Droid at Hasbro. Our collecting duo also swung by the Lego booth to see all the great sets coming out with tie ins to both The Force Unleashed and The Clone Wars.

With the Galactic Hero packs, the Aayla Secura starfighter, the Order 66 2-packs, and the upcoming Force Unleashed Rancor, plus more, Target is the "spot" to shop. This week, the hosts of Star Wars Action News stumbled upon a trove of Target exclusives, and provide a detailed look at the new Order 66 2-packs. Also on this week's Star Wars Action News, Starwars.com last week announced the most recent release date for the highly anticipated game The Force Unleashed, and to accompany that announcement was a video showing the game on various platforms including the Nintendo Wii, DS, and the Playstation 2 and PSP. Arnie and Marjorie look at these various Force Unleashed versions to talk about what's exclusive to each and which they must have. 31. Episode CXXXVIII: Something Unexpected... download (audio/mpeg, 27.59Mb) Description: This is a week of surprises. First, Star Wars fans were surprised over the weekend when the new, full trailer for the upcoming Clone Wars Animated Movie was leaked onto the internet (with Polish subtitles). As our first peek at the story of the seventh theatrical Star Wars release, Marjorie and Arnie give their thoughts on what expectations they have for the film, and discuss forum member's opinions of the trailer. Next, Galactic Hunter's Adam May broke some amazing news about a huge (literally) new release from Hasbro due out this summer. It's a new Millennium Falcon, and it's bigger and badder than ever. 32. Episode CXXXIX: Fit to be TIEd download (audio/mpeg, 40.49Mb) Description: They're coming in too fast! The collecting community has been watching the progress of new Star Wars collectibles licensee eFX with great interest, and we were rewarded this week with the announcement of the first product from eFX--a full scale Stormtrooper helmet. Given how sought after the Master Replicas version of this helmet is, and with only 500 being released by eFX, this is sure to be a very hot seller. eFX CEO Bryan Ono sat down with us this week to talk about the Stormtrooper helmet, what's the same as the MR version, what's different, and how both domestic and international collectors can get their hands on it. Also this week, for years Star Wars collectors complained that the Hasbro and Kenner TIE Fighters had wings that were too small, too out of scale with the cockpit to be movie accurate. Then in 2005 Hasbro responded by giving us a Target exclusive "big wing" TIE Fighter. For years, Star Wars collectors complained that the Hasbro and Kenner TIE Fighters were blue, not at all the color they appeared to be on screen. In 2005 Hasbro responded by giving us a gray TIE fighter. From there things can only get worse... Hasbro started to mix and match wing size and colors. Toys R Us recently got in the third exclusive release of the "big wing" TIE Fighter, this time in "whitish gray". How different is it from the previous Toys R Us gray fighter, and from the Target blue fighter? We discussion those issues this week. Also this week we look at the latest Target exclusives in both 3.75" scale and for the Galactic Heroes.
