Chevrolet Corvette Z06 http://supercar-radio.blogspot... download (, 0.00Mb) Description: Okay, so I did just copy this report off of my other blog, but I fermly believe that the Z06 is one of the greatist cars of this time with price, power, and every day needs. So here it is, the 2006 Chevy Corvette Z06. I decided this because it has many different qualities, from it's slick looks, to its 505 HP V8 engine. If the average person would walk up to the normal Corvette and the Corvette Z06, they would notice no difference. But if a car enthusiest, like myself, would look at it, the first thing that they would notice is the flaired out corners in the front. The reason that Chevy decided to do this is for more downforce in the corners. Another thing that they would notice is spoiler like, flair, in the back. This helps with the Corvette's aerodynamics. Another thing that helps with the aerodynamics is the scoop right in front of the hood, most of it's use is to help cool down the engine. The are scoops behind the front wheel and infront of the back wheel to help cool down the wheels. One other thing that Chevy decided to do is edge out the wheels so when the car comes down in the corners it wont rub. The interior of the car is very similar to the normail version of the Corvette. The only difference is the Z06 symbol in verious areas of the interious, example, the head of the seat. The 2006 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 offers a 505HP V8 engine. You can just tell that chevy was trying not only to build a newer, better engine, but to bring back that faster than fast Corvette that everybody knows. With an astounding 0-60 time of 3.7 seconds and doing the quarter mile in a mirro 11.5 seconds at 127 mph the only thing that the Z06 is missing is top end, which happens to be 198 mph. To me, 198 mph is still fast, but in the world of exotics, its border line. Thats right! I said exotic, which is what the Z06 has turned into. Recently, "Road & Track" and "Car & Driver" did a comparison between the 2006 Chevrolet Corvette Z06, the 2006 Dodge Viper, and the 2006 Ford GT! The Z06 came out with the overall victorie. For only being $65,000, after options, it is one of the best buy's that you can find on the market today. If you are looking for a new ride and you have some cash to spare, $65,000 to be exact, I would pick up the new Corvette Z06. Being fast, luxorious, and affordable, for it's market, it is the best thing you can get. |

12. Bugatti Veyron 16.4 http://supercar-radio.blogspot... download (, 0.00Mb) Description: For my first post on SupercarRadio I figured I'ed do my favorite car, the Bugatti Veyron 16.4. There are many reasons for this being my favorite car, from it's extremely high horsepower engine to the very comforting interior. Lets start with the exterior. The front end takes a little warming up to, but don't worry, it grows on you. The two tone starts AND ends at the front end, something that we rarely ever see in as a stock paint scheme, but for 1.6 million, the better come up with something creative. The line starts at the front end by the "tunnel" like grill as it goes up the trunk, that's right trunk, it creates the perfect spot for the lights to start out. As it works its way back the door at the window line, it curves to come back and creates a scoop for the rear tires and then finally makes its way back up to the front left and front right grills. To me, the rear end is the most beautiful part of the exterior. Two large scoops, that look like they belong on a jet, come out and stop at the back of the roof. A large piece of glass shows off the top of the engine with an adjustable spoiler behind it. As for the interior, it reminds me of an old antique car's interior, or maybe the interior of and older airplane. The metallic silver center counsel sports sleek and stylish gauges. The stick shift in the center council is the same color as the rest of the dash, a woody brown. The steering wheel is the biggest reminder of a classic car with the Bugatti symbol in the center. I saved the best for last, the 10001 horsepower engine. The main reason that this engine has such high horsepower is because it host's 16 cylinders, and these 16 cylinders also create 923 lb-Ft, a very impressive number. A more impressive number, although, is 1.6, this is how much it costs to buy this car. $1,600,000, for that much, you could buy a Ferrari F430 Spider and a million dollar house. But that's what happens when you pay for a Quad-Turbocharged W16. That's right, W, the engine isn't in the regular V formation, it's in a W, this way they don't have to make the engine really long, like the Cadillac XV16 prototype. As for performance, this car can do 0-60 in 3 seconds, 0-200 in 14 seconds, and a top speed of 252mph! In summary, if you are in the market for a supercar, you might want to take a look at this one, but for the hefty price, I don't see many of these being sold, though it is my car of preference. |

18. A Huge Mistake http://supercar-radio.blogspot... download (, 0.00Mb) Description: So sorry to all of you, I made a huge mistake regarding my statements on the Detroit Auto Show having "no supercars." Totally false, as I found out later, and it turns out that Car and Driver only displayed some of the models in attendance on their site. My deepest apologies for this misinformation, I do try to get things right, but sometimes things just slip under the old radar. Here are some of the supercars that were there: Ferrari FXX Ferrari 430 Lamborghini-M Concept (Ouch, the Road and Track article doesn't say anything about this being there!) Aston Martin Rapide Concept (Again, no word in the R&T article about this baby being in Detroit either!) I guess I could put some of the blame on my sources, but I won't - I should have just plain done my homework. Again, a huge "I'm sorry." Thanks to Auto Spies for helping to sort things out. |
