1. And the time is now.
http://aquacast.libsyn.com/ind... download (, 0.00Mb)

Description: Well, it begins. On monday, I start down the long path toward becoming a marine biologist.

I'm a bit scared, honestly. I'm only in Community College, working on Prereqs, but I have to face a demon I've been dreading since high school...

Algebra.

I've never passed the class. In fact, it left me with a massive distaste for math for as long as I can remember. But I gotta do it. Mostly because without it, I'll never make it to my goal. Also- 2 years of straight math ahead of me. All the way up to calculus 3.

May whatever God watches over students protect me.

Also, this week- Aquacast #5 should be going up at some point today. Just working on the script as we speak!

Keep swimming.

2. AquaCast #4
http://aquacast.libsyn.com/ind... download (, 0.00Mb)

Description: Well, I've decided.

I'm gonna stick with the format done in Show #4, because I think Show #3 was a complete disaster.

While I did know what I was talking about, I was tired, and I had no real direction for my recording.

With Show #4, I feel like it was more well-formed, and I am much more confident about it. With some scripting, and less editing, I was able to say the same things in 1/3rd the time. So I like it.

How do you all like it? If you don't like it, Shoot me an e-mail so I can fix it up. If you do like it, review me on ITunes! The rating helps me get more listeners. =)

3. AquaCast #4
http://aquacast.libsyn.com/ind... download (audio/mpeg, 5.21Mb)

Description: Hi guys!

This week we talk about the Salmon Shark, and I report on a new species of crusteation!

I'm sorry for the delay in posting, school, work and real life are all meshing together to conspire against me! But, I will slog forward, to bring the news of the ocean forward and into your minds!

Thanks for your patience, and enjoy episode #4.

Keep swimming.

4. And so the week continues...
http://aquacast.libsyn.com/ind... download (, 0.00Mb)

Description: Well, I'm working as hard as ever on this weeks podcast. I'm gonna try and change it up a bit this week, writing out a script for myself. I'll not stick to it strictly, espically if I have an interesting thought, but I realize that last weeks podcast was kinda drawn-out.

Editing and recording on 2 hours of sleep doesn't work well for me, I suppose. :p

Anyhow, this week, we're talking about a relative to the Great White Shark- very closely related, in fact. The Salmon Shark!

Keep Swimming-

6. Still working on HTML...
http://aquacast.libsyn.com/ind... download (, 0.00Mb)

Description: Well, I'm still learning this whole web-thing. I don't think I've had more then a couple people listen to my podcast, so I'm gonna change things up a bit.

I'm gonna try a shorter podcast, simply profiling a single species, and I'll be scripting it instead of free-styling. I think it'll make the podcast shorter, but easier to listen too.

If anyone has any suggestions, please, please, PLEASE e-mail me so I can work on putting them into my podcast. Also, sorry for the poor formatting of the blog, I think I've figured it out, though. HTML has always escaped me.

Keep swimming,

11. Omnomnom...
http://aquacast.libsyn.com/ind... download (, 0.00Mb)

Description: Well, it's been a wicked two weeks since my last podcast, but let me assure you, the podcast will be better for it.

I've had the opportunity to speak with a friend of mine, who is in the process of graduating from school, finishing up her final quarter even! The exchange we had has inspired me to look for folks who are doing research in the marine biology, conservation, and fisheries sciences fields. I'm really working to get an interview set up with a real, live scientist! =D

Well, the podcast will be up tonight, I'll be recording in just a few minutes. Thanks for your patience, and if you do listen to this podcast, please leave a not, a comment, or e-mail me! I'd like to know if anyone is actually downloading this, and what your thoughts are. Improvments that could be made, content, etc.

I look forward to hearing from ya'll!!

Keep swimming.

13. Tuesday afternoon slog...
http://aquacast.libsyn.com/ind... download (, 0.00Mb)

Description: Tuesday seems to be the worst day to post, and Sunday doesen't work for me either... So I'm thinking that Wednesdays will work for me!

Also, I'm going to change the show format somewhat, to include less news, and more interesting species and sciences. Honestly, I'm interested in the news, but I think that I'll start posting links to the various stories here in the blog, and only mention stories on the podcast that really catch my interest somehow.

And so, I ask for suggestions- What species to you folks wanna hear about? I'll research it for you, find decent pictures, and mention anyone who requests something in the podcast!

Also, I really would like to include feedback in the podcast, so please don't hesitate to e-mail me at Depthpod@gmail.com so I can include your comments! Don't forget to put 'AquaCast' in the subject line, or you'll be spam-filtered into oblivion!

Keep swimming,

-TheBaldFishGuy
