In 2006, veteran journalist and editor D.E. Kern uprooted himself from his long-time home in Pennsylvania to follow his passion in poetry. Kern is pursuing his Master's Degree in Fine Arts—Poetry—at San Jose State University, San Jose, California. He plans to seek a professorship upon completion of his MFA. This poem was recorded in November 2007 from D.E. Kern's first book of poetry, Beside the Shallow Creek, published by Plan B Press. Description:
Ellen Peckham (who until 2000 signed her prints E. Stoepel Peckham) was born in 1938 in Rochester, NY. She is a poet and a visual artist and has read, published and exhibited across the U.S. and in Europe and Latin America. She frequently uses both art forms in a single work, the text decorating and explicating, the image illuminating. She is co-founder, with her husband, Anson, of Atelier A/E, the first gallery to open in the Chelsea arts area and, both for the Atelier and for other organizations, has judged and curated many shows. Her work has been published in Rattapallax, Visions, The Literary Review, The Amherst Review, Alehouse, Poetalk, The Christian Science Monitor and other publications in the US as well as in Great Britain, India, Switzerland and elsewhere. Both her visual art and writing are featured in Continuing Tradition: Doubly Gifted Artists, Ticket Stubbs and in Poem, Revised. She is a winner of the Maggi H.
